People don't like change. Counter-Strike 1.6 is still topping CS: S and CS: CZ for that reason. Which is also why so many people also think the world sucks today despite the fact that the world's pretty much always sucked.

competitive mode is where its at. And as far as gun-game is concerned, I prefer the stock cs:go arms race mode. In gun-game, there are like 30+ levels, only the last 3 of which requiring one level. That means that even if you avoid getting knifed, you still need to score over 60 kills to win the round. Arms race is under half that, as only 1 kill to advance a level puts less penalty for being knifed and less reward for knifing people, as well as speeds up most rounds. The time difference is what puts me off gun-game, as it goes from a quick burst to victory into a long endurance race to see who will get the first molotov kill.
