A 3rd HBO WW2 Mini Series?

At first glance I saw Tom Hanks and was all :(...then I saw band of Brothers referenced and was all :D .

Good find!

I LOVED the Band of Brothers series- as soon as I saw it the first time on HBO I bought it. I watch the whole thing front to back at least once a year. I never have seen the Pacific, but I would be very excited to see anything these guys put out- they work well together

Saving private ryan...not a HBO series, but easily one of the best war movies. I love the WW2 era!

Band of Brothers was a great series. It was hard to watch and follow the first time cause of the tremendous amount of characters. But after the second and third time you were able to truly grasp the scope and feeling this series was trying to potray.

The Pacific... well it was much more of a love story than historical war drama. Yeah people compare it to Band of Brothers, but the "Pacific War" was a totally different theatre of horror that most people don't know about.

I personally like both HBO series and readding this new infomation make me elated!

Maybe they will do soemthing about the German side of the war.

Maybe the Russians?

" the untitled miniseries will explore the aerial wars through the eyes of enlisted men of the Eighth Air Force -- known as the men of the Mighty Eighth. The project will use as its source material historian Donald L. Miller’s nonfiction tome Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany."

From the site.

I actually just finished watching the last episode and special features this evening. Another mini series by these two would be fantastic.

German side of war.. please, beg and have mercy that would be awesome.
The few movies/documentaries there is, they are absolutely awesome.
"Cross of Iron" is still top-3 war movies ever.

I already have watched and own the Pacific an Band of Brothers. I sure hope they make another series.

Hopefully they might make a focused mini-series on the 'Tuskegee Airmen'.
After watching 'Red Tails' and being very disappointed (especially when you compared it to the original movie 'The Tuskegee Airmen' feat. Lawrence Fishburne and Cuba Gooding Jr.), it has the potential for a great WWII story to be told.

I've also heard rumors of Fox making a war series based off of Bad Company 2. Either way both of these sound rather good.

Wow, a series about the war in the air would be awesome. My grandpa was on a B-17 crew in the 100th which was part of the 8th air force so its kind of a bit closer to home, so to speak, than the other two. Don't get me wrong, Band of Brothers is my favorite WW2 series/movie ever. I just think this could be an awesome series.

Have you ever seen Das Boot? I haven't, but it's on my list of movies I really ought to see sometime.
