For those who love DOD... a Recommendation

First, let me start with an admission: I was addicted to DOD:Source for many, many, many years. I absolutely loved the game and typically played for a few hours every night. Eventually, I got caught up in Call of Duty and moved away from DOD's...but I told myself that if they EVER came out with an upgrade, I'd be back in a flash.

Well...for those of you looking for a DOD upgrade or the next progression, I personally feel that it's Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The style is very similar to the arcade-like feel to DOD's, but it's completely modern and updated.

The strange thing is...it isn't just me. I've been coming across many old DOD friends who've discovered Medal of Honor and they all feel the same way.

So...if you love DOD but want something a little more modern...give Medal of Honor: Warfighter a chance.

Just my 2 cents.

I played Medal of Honor on the xbox and really enjoyed it (as much as I could enjoy a console)

Many old school CoD players for pc (Cod1) came from MOH, I can absolutely stand behind that series as it's always been a strong base.

I remember the commercials for it on television, and thought "I could SO see myself playing that!"

I will get it, but I need to wait for it to go on sale first ;)

Don't get me wrong, the game was fun but it lacked a lot. Why did MOH have to move away from world war 2 D:
 
And we are supposed to support EA why? Do you realize what they've done to this industry?
 
Yes, MOHW got terrible reviews...especially in the enormous shadow of Black Ops2. But didn't Day of Defeat get the same reaction compared with Counter Strike?

I will say it again...if you love Day of Defeat, you'll love MOHW.

No. DoDS was a very innovative game (mod) when it was put out, and it was different enough from CSS that the two communities did not overlap much. You can say that Black Ops fans are just hating on Medal of Honor, but there was never any real competition between the two. Besides, the main quips with Warfighter such as poor game mechanics and terrible AI have nothing to do with Black Ops.

I played sooo much MoH:AA, then transitioned to CoD 1 as you said. Good times.
 
Don't get me wrong MOH is a fun game, but how they set it up with origin was bad and no push to talk key. Also sadly less then 700 people play MOH. If only games were not rushed. I miss the olden days where all DLC was free and people cared about video games.
 
More like a downgrae to be honest. DoD is better than MoH in many ways.

I thought the same about CoD and MoH but there is something that I and others have failed to realize..


There's only so much you can put into a WW2 game.



The way I see it just there have been hundreds, if not over a thousand WW2 Video games/PC games. After a gaming company has made 4 or 5 titles with the WW2 theme you have little left to provide unless you move into fiction WW2 with games like Wolfenstein.


Very little has Not been covered regarding WW2 as far as games go. I'm certain there will be far less WW2 games in the future unless someone comes up with some serious innovative ideas OR a remake of classic WW2 game come out.. Perhaps with a next gen console or some crap. I doubt it though.

I agree with this.

I played the first "New" MOH and was sooo disappointed then seen this was coming out and had litte hope.. played it and was all disappointed again.
