What's in a Name ..

The name I go by everywhere but here is D3RP MCHERP. Here I go by CAPS LOCK because I often accidentally press my caps lock key. My name also gives me an excuse to do ALL CAPS RAGE JKFBJIUHSEFSJGMSMJGSGLK<SGK<SLFRDKSOIJSOIFGKSOFSGDBSGDFHBSGDFJKSGEFNHLDJSGNBD

My name originates from when I made my 2nd Minecraft account after the Halloween update (1st one got hacked) As the Nether was released I said why not make an account called NetherApprentice now I use it for everything.

My original clan was the Justice League... I didn't want to be Wonder Woman, and Black Canary was taken. :)

My old one, Benzene, came from when I was doing chemistry.

Mr. Monday, the one I moved to, came from three places:

1. I like names with titles in them, and Mr, believe it or not, is actually my favorite title.

2. I like names that have to do with time. Months, days, noon, dusk, etc. I love them.

3. It all came together from a character from the Keys to the Kingdom series by Garth Nix. It's one of the most original series I've ever read, and I LOVED every book.

Also, Nether Apprentice, what is that icon from?

Sanctified because that is what I am; the aberration bit came from Call of Cthulhu/DnD where aberrations were my favorite sort of creature (yay pseudopods!)

Only annoying thing is when people don't bother reading or can't comprehend the name. I have been called 'sacrificed abortions' way too many times. :(

"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed."

The iconic first line in one of the greatest books I've ever read The Gunslinger
The gunslinger in the novel is a knight errant in a world that has "moved on", on a quest for the Dark Tower.
Roland, believes the man in black can lead him to this tower for which he has been searching.

XiX is a play on the roman numeral for 19, which is an ominous symbol of power and portents through the rest of the series.

Basically I fell in love with this character and his world which parallels a futuristic version of our own, while he quests for his own souls redemption. Being a heartless killing machine using anyone/anything in his path to obtain his goals, has a way of scarring a mans soul.

I am Mitsubishi Zero because it is one of my favorite warplanes in World War II and my favorite fighter ace pilot, Saburo Sakai, flew one.

I did not expect this to happen, but some people thought my name means a car! Anyways, someday I would like to fly my very own Zero fighter, but I guess that's not gonna happen without flight training.
I'm with you on the wanting to pilot a Zero. Or any other WWII prop driven plane for that matter.
As far as the Zero goes, I found this, much to my dismay.

<--- Mine came from the random name generator out of Dark Age of Camelot, heh. Saw it, loved it, been using it for years. ;)

well my name was retroGamer but the first forum I used it on only displayed the first 6 letters in the live chat and so here I am

Justin's my first name, and...

Bender is a term for someone who can't skate, or their ankles bend sideways when they do. So I sarcastically say that I bend. Also, it's a double-meaning because I play guitar, and a guitar string can also bend.

So in a culmination of awful humor and severe un-originality, here I am.

Lucas is my name and 15 was the age I was when I began using this nickname. Thus, Lucas15 arose. :)

spark because when I shoot you in the face sparks come out of it.

I thought of my name when I started playing WoW. I always liked magic type classes and I wanted a "Magical" type of name so I tried Wise and it was taken. So, I tried Wize and ever since it's been my gamer name. Well, That or Saintwize.

Current name is from WoW for me as well... I wanted a new name for an alternate character I made. I was going for Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin Anime), but it was taken. Genshin sounds like Kenshin so I went with it.

I was known for many years as Vabiant in Final Fantasy 11, WoW, Team Fortress Classic, Counter-Strike 1.6, Star Craft, and CSS. That name came from the anime Trigun. I wanted to have a character in FFXI named Vash, but it was taken. So I came up with Vabiant some how playing off the "Va" sound.

Also known as Bobathefett in WoW.

Kazoo is the nickname Meep gave me for my old alias, Kasai. I was a big anime fan when I was a kid, and I wasn't very creative with names. Anyway, Kazoo is much easier to pronounce than Kasai, so I stuck with that when I played TF2. And thus, it stayed.

Completely forgot about this thread. It's always interesting (to me at least) to get the story behind players game name. Some are rather creative others well ..

In full dis-closer Puke-N-Snot started as an alias, since way back in the day I used to play games like Quake & UT competitively I wanted a name I could play a little more casual under once in a while. Gradually as I gravitated to other games Puke-N-Snot became my standard.

Thanks for sharing folks!

I use Pollo, Pollito or Tonypollito cause when I was in highschool (loong ago) I used to make this sound when walking through hall [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUxTSF3pCRU[/ame]

And chicks love chick sounds. For some weird reason.
