I'm currently looking for a soundcard and it has to be PCIe. I hear a lot of good things about ASUS Xonar DG, but it uses a PCI slot. So right now, I'm interested in its PCIe version which is the Xonar DGX. People on some boards say that to stay away from Creative brand due to driver problems.

If there's one thing that interests me about the DGX is, it has a headphone amplifier. If you're curious, I'll be using the new soundcard along with an Audio Technica ATH-AD700.

I'd like to know what you guys think, and if you have other suggestions as well.

Depends on your budget. Sure I could pick a $300 sound card but would you buy it? Probably not... :P

I am in no way an audiophile. My onboard 7.1 sound is good enough for me lol. But based on your preferences on just PCIe and non-Creative Labs that's what you get. Im sure you noticed but theres the DSX, DX, and DGX. All around the price range but have different quality ratings.

Thanks for the input guys! I think I'll go ahead and get a Xonar DGX. I probably would get it by Tuesday or Wednesday if I order now.

Feel free to put in more input and suggestions though!
