I'm planning on building a new computer this upcoming spring and I'm really looking for a new MMO to start playing. I bought Guild Wars 2 but stopped playing it because of how terribly it lagged on my current computer. But I was just wondering what MMO's are you guys currently playing, and or looking to be playing in this upcoming year. I've read about the new Elder Scroll's, and it looks pretty awesome, just looking for opinions and where the crowd of edge gamers seems to be heading.

GW2 i think is great. i only stopped playing because i played too much and ended up getting gw2 burnout but i am planning on returning soon after i get my fill of DoD.

With a new rig im sure the lag will pass. The loading screens heading into town are still a bit long i find, but like Zero said, i also dont know anyone that hasnt enjoyed the game who have tried it. Great crafting system, fun personal story line. No mounts makes it actually nice. And the main thing that ive noticed. A very mature, helpful social part of the game. Which is fantastic seeing how ive played WoW since the start, and im sure we all know exactly what that social aspect of the game is like.

I also enjoyed Rift. Some call it a WoW clone, but that isnt completly true. I havent played that in some some but i liked that game as well. Lots of character building options.

Or, if you find yourself with lots of patience you could always give my all time fav a try. FFXI. :D

As far as eGO and MMO's go, from what I've seen, it's mostly sticking with World of Warcraft.

RuneScape use to be another supported MMO (Browser-based, too) but it was removed a little while ago due to inactivity/lack of support. Other then that, it's a really fun game (And it's free-to-play, while having some perks with membership subscriptions and other money-needed-packages)

Rift I've played a little bit of, but personally don't like it. I agree with Diggles that it isn't a WoW Clone, let alone anywhere near it. Somewhat same-design, sure..but the...'feeling' of the game, if that's the correct way to put it, is just off.

GW2, or any of the Guild Wars Series, I haven't played or bought so no comment there, other then based off reviews/previews, it looks like a fun game/series.

Elder Scrolls Online, from what I've heard, has released it's beta (there's a couple posts/threads around the forums here with the link to website), and I must say it looks epic. Saw a couple youtube videos on it too from the game designers discussing their area of the game, such as PvP, the concept, etc. Really looking forward to this game!

There's most likely more out there, but these, IMO, are the more popular games.

Well I played WoW for like 4 years back during vanilla and BC but I think I'm officially over it. I think I might just retry out Guild wars and see what it would be like with no lag and better graphics.

I got back into maplestory the past few days >.>

Other than that when I do play it's usually WoW

If you don't like monthly subscriptions buy Guild Wars 2. If you don't mind to pay 13 euro a month, go back to WoW even though you're officialy over it. I know how it feels. I've quit for a good half year now but if I start playing again, I'll be hooked. So, that's why I'm waiting for the summer holiday so I have no obligations regarding school. But then I play too much, and get fed up with WoW and I swear that I'll never play this crappy game again. Half year later and we're at square one again.

Guild Wars 2 has great features: it runs great, you don't need a good PC ( mine can run it on high, and mine's 6 years old ), it looks way much better than WoW. And probably the best thing there are no monthly fees.

WoW however, is still the best MMO out there. I kind of get that nostalgic feeling when I think back on the time I've had playing WoW. And this may sound a bit strange, but I somehow miss not playing WoW with friends. I love the vibe.

Yea man, I went back to WoW for a bit but it was only a f2p level 20 twink so it was more casual, but I think I would rather try to get into Guild Wars 2 than fall into the WoW trap again, I'm sure you know what I mean.
