Expressing Gratitude

Question about cage fighting, do you use actual cages to fight people with(i.e. smash a cage over a persons head)?

Remind me to never go to that library, I can't imagine what would happen if I don't pay my late fees.

Oh wait, I don't go to libraries.

I wish XD I just don't let something hinder my passion. Which is beating the sh....crap out of people.

They give you dollars to punch people in the face? Whenever I punch people in the face I have to give THEM dollars.

Mad props taking the analogy out of "kicking ass and taking names."

Did you win?!? I can ask that right? I don't want to anger you.. *hides*

I won via KO in the third round.

He reverse bear hugged me, I headbutted him twice, blew out his knee and gave him a liver shot.

So you are a librarian by day, but a badass cagefighter who KO's by blowing out his knee's and giving a liver shot by night.

So, a superhero.

It isn't illegal in MMA. It is illegal in UFC, which are two different leagues. Aside from that, the rules that apply to typical leagues to not apply to "KY Valiant". We do not even wait the preferred time for weigh-ins and training before each fight. The fights are not for the fighters, it is for the entertainment of the citizens. Seeing as how the part of KY I live in has no form of entertainment aside from movie theaters. Disagree as you will, it isn't the same ;P

wow, thats really impressive! Great work and hope the road to recovery is swift :)

I don't see how a move in which not only the recipient, but person throwing it are usually SERIOUSLY injured is allowed in a league that people fight every 4 days in? It isn't just the UFC. Bellator, Stikeforce, Pride, etc all banned it I believe. Concussions, serious lacerations/brusing, cracked skulls, etc. How a body can recover from that or even the most minor injuries in 4 days is amazing to me. For example, if you blew the guys knee out, he will be out of commission for months. I've never heard of any league in the US allowing that, minus some backyard/bar fighting make-shift fight club. I know you've said before, it's mind over body or whatever, but how someone is expected to fight 4 days after a minor injury over and over is beyond me.

I can understand not waiting the preferred amount of time for weighing-in, because you'd literally have to maintain the same amount of weight in order to meet the requirements of 145 pounds every 4 days. Also, if you finished him with a liver shot, it was more than likely a TKO, not a KO,

Props for whatever league you compete in. It sounds like the craziest, most non-traditional mma league I've ever heard of. As someone who is very interested in learning about MMA, I find this thread extremely informative.

Also, since you hold a 145lbs belt, I'm assuming that implies that your league is at least semi-professional. If that's the case, you should inform whoever keeps MMA records, like the site listed below. With your 64th win, you rank 5th in the history of MMA in wins. Of all time.

I think you've also probably shattered the world record for most MMA fights in a year, by a lot:

Most MMA Fights in One Year:

No no no, it isn't the same as male weight systems,

Featherweight is considered anywhere between 105-125. Typically they label it as 115-125, though the weight systems don't matter as much.

If you honestly want to call it what it is, it is essentially street fights. The only TRUE rules are "No Below the Belt", and the universal "no foreign objects. As for protection, the only thing we use are gloves.
It would have considered a T.K.O. but his eyes were completely closed as if K.O.'d

The highest wins in our league currently is held by "Mandy" standing at 156-40.

The fight days are every 2-4 days for women (depending on injury, and if you accept the fight). The days from men vary from 2-5 days, same as above, injury & acceptance.

Honestly, I only do it for the money. If you'd call it street fighting that is fine, but we just call it local MMA.
