I didnt know if this was the correct place for a question like this but i decided to post anyways.

Ok so im making a simple game in allegro(c++) and i want to add a sound file into it, its not needed per grading criteria but just something that i would really like to add. bit of my code has it stands.
load_sample() and play_sample() <-the parts that control the sound file.
the only thing is,is that when i run this i get abort() :facewall:
when i comment out load_sample and play_sample no abort() :confused1:
no clue why, any ideas/comments/remarks would be appreciated
Code:
int main(){
	init();
	initializeRooms();
    SAMPLE* test = load_sample( "e/HOBIT_ADVENTURE/clever.wav" );
	GameSetupInfo = new GameSetup(); //Sets up the data for the game
	 int x= 0;
	int pDamage=0;

	<<<@!1!@>>>

	while (!key[KEY_ESC]){
        if(location[0]){
			load_image(GameSetupInfo, area[PARTY].filename);
			if(!output){
				load_text(GameSetupInfo, area[PARTY].description);
				play_sample(test,128,128,1000,true);
				output = true;
edit: sniped some of the redundant parts
