You can buy better choice ram. You can get 2 8 gig sticks. No need to get so much ram either. Max you only need 8 gigs unless you plan on running all your programs at once or something stupidly crazy like that.

So ya when I plan to upgrade my desktop, im going with GSkill as well, but I would highly recommend that you get this memory instead & save yourself some $$: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314

Now if you want to upgrade in the future, then you can get another set of 2x4gb sticks or possibly upgrade to 2x8gb sticks (if you ever need to go up that much). Thankfully most motherboards support up to 32gb of memory (which is still ridiculously plenty), but at least now you have some options. Also do yourself a favor in the future & dont limit yourself on memory options. Btw are you looking to overclock your system? If so, check into memory that is overclockable (it has to have heat spreaders built in so that it can get rid of the heat that is produced by the memory modules in order to keep those cool & function properly).

from what i was reading the timing on the ram is important aswell from what i read it says the lower the better
