Anyone play Stepmania?

It's like DDR but on the computer. You can download any song you can find and have at it. It's super fun.

actually i prefer ddr/itg (unless i can get the pad to work properly with my desktop). i havent really gotten into stepmania, but notice that people mainly use their fingers & im thinkin "whats the use of playin the game if you're just using your fingers?" can you play stepmania using a reg dancepad by chance?

If you can hook up the mat to your computer, then you definitely can play with a mat.

The only thing is, once you up the difficulty to heavy or challenge or "insane" then it's impossible to do it with the mat most of the time because of how many consecutive notes there are within such a small time frame. Also at those levels (depending on the song), there are parts where you must hit 3 or 4 arrows at the same time.

Ive seen at that rate where people have hit those notes, but theyre playing on the metal pads w/ the bars behind them for support. Frankly ive tried that & it really hurts to hit the pads with your hands (well the plastic part on the metal pads of course).
