Hi everyone! We have arranged a scrim with our friends at the 2nd ID tonight. If you are interested in participating, please see below for the relevant details.

Date: Friday Feb 15, 2013

Time: 11pm EST

Server: 2nd ID (68.232.168.51:27015)

No. of players: At least 10

Rounds: At least 1, maybe 2

Map/s: dod_santos_b2 and then dod_donner, but only if enough people stick around after the first round.

eGO roster: First-come, first-serve -- please PM me on Steam (not Vent, so it's easier for me to keep track) from 10.30pm EST onwards to reserve your spot. The server password will then be issued via Ventrilo. If we have more people than available slots, we will rotate people in during the second map if we play one. Please note that we do reserve the right to deny any individual the right to participate in the scrim (for e.g. if he/she has zero or little realism experience).

Also, just a gentle reminder to all those participating: do be on your best behavior, and remember that our eGO Code of Conduct still applies to "external" events and especially when we are being hosted on non-eGO servers.

Don't forget to thank Nuckin for helping to set this scrim up for us. Hope to see you all there tonight!

Do you need experience in Realism scrims to attend? I haven't been a part of realism at all as it usually conflicts with my work schedule. I would love to attend though.

Edit: "Please note that we do reserve the right to deny any individual the right to participate in the scrim (for e.g. if he/she has zero or little realism experience)."

Just read that part. Got my answer heh

I would recommend that you show up regardless, just incase.

Hmm, 11pm EST?
I should be able to make it :).

And I do have some experience with realism, albeit a somewhat non-spectacular one.

Ichor, the short answer is that it's highly preferred, but it varies on a case-by-case basis, and there have been exceptions to the rule.

Besides us wanting to field a competitive team (remember, these Realism units do this for a living), the main reason why that is one of the typical requirements is that Realism has some very specific rules and terminology, and if we have players whom are unprepared (or perhaps are not very proficient at following orders or being capable communicators) and thus unknowingly break rules, that would not look good on us, especially during an external event.

That said, if you have time between now and the event, do give the Realism Handbook a quick read to familiarize yourself with how everything works. Be sure to focus on the section titled "Realism Rules" that is towards the bottom of the post.

I along with any of the many members we have whom are familiar with Realism would be happy to answer any questions you might have. If after all that you feel like you're comfortable with how Realism works, and you PM me half an hour before the event before the roster fills up, we'll be happy to have you join us tonight.

Thank you very much for the information Skippy! I will definately go through all the material once I get home from work and go from there. Either way I would like to say GL to Whoever attends!

Since this was my first scrim, i didn't expect it to go as it did, especially in the last round.
They were really good, especially their shooting speed. I managed to kill one of them, but another rushed me and took me out.

On a better note, i liked their *salute* messages. :)

Thanks for everyone who joined, and especially to Mavwreck and Suay for making room for SomeDude and cush in the second round.

As most expected, we did not manage to pull through with a win, but I'm proud of everyone for hanging in there. I hope no one is discouraged by our results -- bear in mind that these units we play are seasoned realism vets who probably practice realism 10x as much as we do. Just think of it this way, there's nowhere for us to go but up!

Round 1 - Donner (Lost 1-3)

Round 2 - Santos (Lost 0-3)
