For those who don’t know what GC is, here is some general information –
? GC is a BF3 based community which aims to take the ever popular board game RISK and apply it to BF3. Rather than playing on a board, the RISK template is simulated by large scale BF3 battles, where two teams go at each other to gain more territory on the map and eventually earn itself a victory.
? GC campaigns comprise of two teams which are split up at the beginning of each campaign and those teams are further divided into Air, Armor and Infantry division. Members are free to join any division of their liking. On maps where one division may not be required (For example, on Metro, armor and air divisions don’t have any assets), everyone is assigned new responsibilities to suit the map.
? GC main battle days are on Saturday’s from 1est to around 7est where every week one side gets to attack while the other defends a territory. While participation throughout the battleday is recommended, members can come and go anytime but will have to wait for their turn to play. The structure for these battles are always conquest maps aiming for 32 v 32 battles.
? During the weekdays, Tuesdays (Tentative) at 3PM and 9pm EST, Black Ops event is held which are basically smaller scale battles for perks on the RISK map such as credits etc which can then be cashed by a team for various purposes. These battles normally use different modes such as Rush, Tank Superiority etc.
? During other days in the week practices are held by each team in preparation for the next battler or just general training.
Each team consist of a General who is chosen at the start of the campaign. Officers and captains are then chosen by the general to lead the army and the various divisions. Those officers then in turn chose squad leaders who lead individual squads and this squad leader roster is changed all the time to reflect performance and give other people a chance to lead. Officers can also be appointed during campaigns by the general and high command.
Campaign 4 just ended, with the team Starfisher’s Coffee Initiative (STAR) winning it. It was one of the longest campaigns in GC history spanning almost 4 months where the other team Gladius (GLD) fought a tough campaign till the very end.
Various members from eGO played a part on both teams and this season we are looking to expand that further by having a even larger contingent of eGO members take part in GC.
GC will allow eGO members to not only interact with BF3 players from all around the world but it will also be a good way to spread eGO’s name. We already enjoy the reputation of having some of the top players in GC and we would like to continue that further. What eGO needs to focus on is taking our experience in scriming and our values of teamwork and respect and apply that to GC.
GC will also give eGO members a chance to experience large scale BF3 warfare again and will keep their week busy. The end goal is to supplement the BF division’s event program with GC events to allow leadership to focus more on delivery higher quality events ourselves, develop the competitive team further and focus on servers and recruiting.
I will be posting up more details on how to sign up for the next campaign and various other details once they become available.
Remember when you are at GC you represent eGO, so the rules that apply to you on our servers still apply to you in GC. Any issues in GC which would be considered a break of conduct in eGO will result in appropriate action.
GC is also a non-profit organization like eGO, so you will not be asked for any money etc but donations are always appreciated by them.
