Not able to play games but im able to surf the internet

Ok so i recently bought a new wireless router the netgear wireless-n router and i bought the netgear n600 wireless-n dual band usb adapter but as i soon figured out i am not able to play games on the computer i recently built but i am able to access the internet. So my question is what is the problem with either or these devices as i really want to test out my new computer.

Have you been able to play using wifi in the past?

Have you plugged your computer directly into the router via ethernet?

Not saying you can't, but my experience with wifi has never been very good.

You can try running some online speed tests using wifi vs ethernet to see where the problem is.

Where is the router located vs your computer?

Need more info.

Check the settings with the router. It may not allow it that or the speed for the Internet is to slow for the games... Who knows check google lol

you may have to open a port to play,, chk your setting in the router. google the cod4 ports. and also make sure the pb is updated. GOODLUCK.

Need to look @ it's manual, likely a port or gaming setting in the router
