I need a smart person to "insert solution here" ......please, Gamer only want's to scout it up in this house :<

Uh, that's still not a very specific story.

Any error messages?

I will call Gaben for you and tell him to fix it. I have his #on speed dial

Can't argue with the above. Based on what you have told us the list of issues is long.

Are you getting a "hl2.exe has stopped working" message?

Does the PC blue screen & have to be re-booted?
Does it just close TF2 & goes back to your desktop.
Does your event view give you any warring.

I keep getting a "hl2.exe has stopped working." :/ The game gets to the start, I make it into a server and then the moment I try to join a team it crashes.

I feel you pain. I've had the hl2 error on & off, it only happens on servers with the MOTD for me at least some times it happens a few times a day, then nothing for a month

Some folks have suggested it's Flash player, Update your adobe flash. And claim to have had luck with a complete reinstall of flash player. Might work for you (or not)

literally all that happens is that it goes to the gray loading screen then closes. Nothing pops up or anything

It could be because of the new update... Valve messed up everything!

probably. I looked it up and people also said it was the update, well I guess I'll just be playing some other games until it either manages to fix on it's own, I get a solution, or they have a new update

Well we got to start some where so ..
Find event viewer & look for any error or warning messages.
Best thing to do would be to try and start up TF2, note the time. And then look for a error or message in event viewer that matches that time.

Also could try the following :

Turn off cloud sync in Steam:settings
Delete all .cfg's in my tf folder
Restart Steam
Turn cloud sync back on
Restart Steam and start Tf2
Validate & defrag files for TF2 on Steam

that used to happen to me around december, it was fixed in a patch, it was something to do with dxlevel 8

That happened to me once. Then I installed Chris's TF2 Config, and it made it all better. No idea how.

Ok, have you deleted your team fortress 2 folder (yes the whole thing) ?, Don't worry steam will rebuild every thing back to stock. If Yes to this then I'd suggest "uninstalling" TF2 & reinstalling or contacting steam
