So I downloaded a team colored fire mod a few months back, didn't work. i install a TON of mods(well, that's the understatement of the century) yet for some reason this new mod that makes fire green ISN'T WORKING >:X anyways just wondering, is there a command i have to put in console or is there just a problem with my computer? etc

That's not specific enough.

Did you drop the files in the right folders?

Did you drop the files in the right folders?

Lets see:
*Download the particle Mod
*The folder it gave me was called "tf2"
*I put it in my "Team Fortress 2" file which has "tf2" in it
*Says "This destination already contains a folder named 'tf'

If any files have the same names, you will be asked if you want to replace those files

Do you still want to merge this folder?

Yes

This destination already contains a folder named 'particles'.

Do you still want to merge this folder?

Yes

There is already a file with the same name in this location.
click the file you want to keep

Move and Replace

Still nothing when i log onto TF2. The other hundreds of mods worked when i did this, no idea what to do

Depends on the server you're on. Do you connect to servers that have sv_pure set to 1 or 2?

sv_pure 1

Client-side mods aren't allowed on servers with sv_pure set to 1 or 2. The command exists to disallow clientside cheating such as changing the invis watch decloak sound to a car alarm.

In short, it's not gonna work on servers with sv_pure 1 or 2.

so all of my skin mods and voice mods work, but not a flame thrower mod? huh

Yeah all eGO servers are set to pure 1 but all of my mods work. You might want to take a look at that.

Why are you guys claiming that sv_pure setting on our servers is set to 1 when it's clearly 0. The client console doesn't replicate server side commands.

Lol u guys.

There was an update a while back that broke particle skins. Either you have an old version, a new update broke the skins, or the creator hasn't fixed it.

There might be some file blocking another file from working... You maybe to reload your game cache if you want to...

Great idea!
Goes off to do that and continue killing littel babbies as mighty hoovy of the Pootis family ( I am the POOTISborn! ) * insert 'evil' laughter here*

No, that would do nothing

This is true, to the best of my knowledge, we are running sv_pure 0. In fact, if I remember correctly, this is the default config.

Most likely the case, these things periodically get broken every time Valve releases an update that alters something that the add on is also changing. For instance, a recent update that allowed for double digits in the scoreboards completely altered several custom huds.

I was kinda confused when Lyra said sv_pure was 1 when I remember it being 0.

To be honest, too lazy to look and he said 1 or 2, 1 lets me use skins so i chose that one being the most probable out of the 2
