DOD:s Crashing!

Very recently, my DOD:s has been crashing mid-play. It happened during the tryout (very end), and now during a realism match. It is getting irritating, to be honest.

I am wondering: is it normal(due to an update)? or is it because of faulty/corrupt data?

My dod crashed right before the tryout and my monitor stopped receiving input which I thought was peculiar

I am experiencing this as well. I have tried 3 video driver versions, and the problem persists in only this game. My guess is that this is an issue with one of the recent DoDS updates, and hopefully will be patched or fixed.

Just incase anyone can relate, my game crashes due to my video card. It is really standard, so standard that I do not know what it was called. (Used aida64 and found it was Intel HD Graphics 3000). On maps that are using heavy water textures (heavy on video cards) or poorly optimized maps can cause my game to crash. (Kalt for example, but rarely does).

lol constant updates lately so obviously the numpties have broken something

once i installed latest GFX drives my game has now stopped crashing for now

On top of that I can say our servers/motd breaks alt-tabbing, this does not occur on other servers and is likely video/sound in the motd breaking it, at least for me.

I've not had any problems with DoD except when changing maps the game sometimes crashes but that's been there forever.

3 or 4 days ago, Windows Update showed an nVidia video Card update...

I dont have this problem now and havent applied the update but if you review your update history, it may be possible that you aplied this update... It may be Windows related even though it only presents itself with DoD... it has happened before.

I have a Win 7 pro 64 bits btw

Your not the only one with that, had to turn the video off through console.

99% of any problems you guys experience due to the MOTD or video ads is caused by

a) outdated or corrupt flash installation
b) outdated or corrupt gpu drivers

Otherwise, those MOTD related problems have nothing to do with the issue brought up by the OP.

In addition, you should never use automatic update to install audio or video drivers. In my experience they are incorrect drivers 50% of the time, or do not install properly. Stick to nVidia and AMD's official site drivers for your cards.

I always have done manual install and everything is up to date, still had the issue. I blocked the MOTD and my game never crashed when joining the server.

everything being up to date doesn't mean the installations are not corrupt or not pristine in some way. If the MOTD is giving you trouble and you have no issues in other games, the problem is on your end either by your GPU or Flash drivers. I guarantee it.
