North America East 1

Add me on Origin and I'll invite you to our region!

Name: mrfps16

I'm still trying to connect and actually play the game, but i'd be up to joining a region with any of you..!

Add me on origin: MottonRex

My room-mate broke down and bought it. It's funny listening to him play and react to his citizens. I'll probably get it sooner than planned, but I'm still going to give it at least a week to get the server stuff sorted out.

Game looks great though.

Yeah, the server issues are irritating, especially after the same company ran into this problem with their other titles. I'm optimistic, though, that all of this will end up paying off in the end. Once we obtain more players from eGO, I'll set us up with a 16 plotted region :thumbup1: We have to have commitment though or else we will doom each other

Well this is a shame. Too bad they implemented the always on thing, because I have a crappy 512kb/s DSL connection, and it's really unstable. Plus, sometimes I play offline games to wait for my Steam games to download, or something to completely allocate my bandwidth to downloads.

Well this is a game I'll never buy. :/

Alright, I'm putting this thread back on track. If you want to post solely to bash the game, the company, or anything else related to the launch difficulties please do it on a different website.

Loving the game so far. In a region with my room-mate. Have had no difficulties playing.

EDIT: Also live tweeting the life of my city as I play. JPisAntonio2 if anyone wants to check it out.

I sent you an invite, spit. Alot of us just started up in a new region over in the NA west 2 server. I'll send you an invite if you'd like once you settle in with the game dynamics. So far I believe 7 of us are currently in the region (out of 16)

Let me know!

First things first... Spitfired, I've sent you an invite with the user name "MottonRex". I would amke things easier if Origin allowed us to include introductory notes with the friend requests. then again there may be a way that i don't know about. That being said, anyone can add me as a friend using the MottonRex Origin ID.

Second, I've had the opportunity to practice a bit with the EA**** region and I'm getting close to being somewhat proficient and i'll be ready to get in a huge eGO region... I'll wait for further details on new digs for Simcity @ eGo. I say we make a competitve team and take on TF2 division with an army of Maxismen and Dr.Vu's!

Third, this is the editorial/glass-half-full part, Maxis has decided to give a free game from the EA catalog as compensation for the launch fiasco. I think it's a nice gesture. I don't want to get into the "is that enough to make it right" debate, but I thik it show contrition and some measure of respect for the people who were the first to support the game. Here's Maxis' Director blog entry announcing it: http://www.ea.com/news/a-simcity-update-and-something-for-your-trouble

It's getting easier and easier to get in so Mayors, to your city halls!

See you guys in game and hear you guys in Vent!

Update!

A lot of us are in a different server and starting to build up our cities. We will be practicing some strategies for the upcoming challenges in 2 weeks. I believe the first is a population boom challenge, so take these two weeks to figure out how to improve your population and create growth.

Also, add me on Steam or Origin if you need an invite or to communicate in any way. We are here to help!

Sorry I'd not seen this on the forums, but I joined the game with you guys.

I show up as Wizminkey on Origin.

I noticed Region trading seemed to be down last night. So I'm sorry if my city specializations are messed up. I'm set up to provide power, coal and iron. I just haven't ramped up the power production much yet due to the aforementioned Region trading issues.

Friend requests from FPS and Tempus accepted. Request sent to you Branaddar.

I have to go run some errands and won't be playing until later tonight. Probably stick it out a little longer with my current city. Loving the game, but often playing at a slow (turtle) speed and just enjoying it for all it's worth.

Will get to joining our unofficial eGO region soon though. That will be fun! My room-mate and I also noticed that region sharing and region chat were not working last night. Can't wait to see how they affect things.

Yeah, they were down but now its working. We have two weeks to play around until the first challenge. It'd be nice to get a nice core group of dedicated sim'ers to play the challenge.

The game has come a long way since launch! Thoroughly enjoying it. Not that I want to admit that I peruse terrible websites, but I'm amazed and somewhat disgusted at how Kotaku is still looking for any and every excuse to attack and bash the game.

It's great, and it's also great to see that they will be addressing traffic issues. It's funny to me watching the emergency vehicles not yield right of way or stop in traffic jams, but I will be happy to see it fixed.

Anyways, having fun running two cities in the region. Region is having problem with air pollution, but our experts are working around the clock to upgrade my industry tech and clean it up.

That stupid air pollution thing.. It honestly doesn't feel like it will ever stop. It just quietly persists...

And my mouth dropped when I read some of those threads and posts that investigated the population and traffic issues. Especially how those Sims don't have a "job" per se, in the conventional sense; they go from home to work, work to home. Point A to Point B and back again. They go to fill an open job that isn't being "fulfilled", if said job is filled by the time they get there (past traffic), then they go to next open position, and repeat the process. That is an annoying issue that I didn't understand why they operated like that.
