"Tapeing" or the act of making a fake aiming reticule with tape to pull off cheap no-scopes in DoD:S. I think it should be considered cheating. You guys decide!!

I appreciate the concern but eGO rules aren't up for a vote like this.

It's nearly impossible to admin this situation and it can't be added to the rules. As admins, we need proof to back up our actions; there's absolutely no easy way to prove that someone is guilty of this and false positives would be incredibly common. Lots of people are simply good at estimating where the center of their screen is.

Well, besides what Dom said, they are not modifying their game code to gain an advantage, but rather placing a marker on their monitor, if I understand correctly, which anyone can do if they wish to do so. I would not consider that a form of cheating in the normal sense.

I don't consider it cheating as well. They probably aren't any good if they need a marker on their screen just to help their game play, not worth the time it takes to ban.

some games as I recall, the bullet doesn't always land in the middle of the screen.

Dominion answered this already - we can't really admin this unless somebody sends an image of them playing the game with a taped-on crosshair of some kind.

I've seen a few people inadvertently show a screenshot with bright skins over the years (which are not allowed, but extremely difficult to catch...), but never anything like this.

Closed to prevent spam - thank you for answering, Dominion.
