Battlefield 4 Reveal Incoming March 26

Battlefield developers Digital Illusions CE and publisher Electronic Arts are all set to officially reveal the highly anticipated Battlefield 4 in San Francisco, California on March 26.

I would wait until the real 700s are out (the 700M and 730M are already out).

It may not be til later this year, but no point in spending a grand for a 690, when the 700s are coming out this year. The 780s should be comparable to 690 performance, and for half the price.

BF3 only utilizes 10% of the Frostbite 2 engine. It is very likely you WILL need a much better card for BF4.

Doubtful.

EA has turned DICE into another Activision. They'll better optimize it, maybe add slightly nicer textures, and/or lighting effects (because they love to go overboard with these). It will be like Modern Warfare 1-3. You notice slight improvements, but nothing drastic. You might need a good 600/700 series card to run on ultra smoothly, but there's no way there will be such a jump in hardware requirements for a game that's being released so soon.

The game will probably be seen as having a much greater leap in graphics than it really has because the next gen consoles will be out. Once again though, consoles will be the limiting factor. The PS4's GPU is close to the performance of a 660 Ti.

I can run Crysis 3 on high at 1920x1080 on my 560s, and I highly doubt BF4 will have better graphics than Crysis 3. The only reason someone might need to upgrade their card is if they have an old one that was already out of date when BF3 launched (nVidia 400 series or older).

The ones that are already out are laptop GPUs.
 
Yea, that's why I said wait until the real 700s are out. Any GPU that has M at the end (like the two I listed) are for laptops.

You'll always be waiting for the next big thing to come out... You should upgrade when you can no longer play with your monitors refresh rate as your minimum FPS on whatever settings you are happy with (for me that's low settings; 144FPS though ~100+ is good enough)

I'm going to wait til Bf4 comes out then see if I still get ~100 minimum, if not I'll get another 7870.
