Sound output very quiet

Okay so I have had this problem ever since I got a new motherboard and still haven't found a fix. I am used my audio being very loud and I miss it.

I use the on board sound and I'm not sure if it's just that or the sound drivers. I'm using realtek drivers with realtek hd audio manager. I set everything to max in the equalizer and it still doesn't seem to be loud enough. I need another way to boost the audio.

I should also mention I use razer carcharias headphones.
I am also not sure if it is just my headset but the bass sucks. Everyone that I know that owns the same headset has said that the bass great, but I have not experienced this.

Also my audio codec is ALC889

Any feedback is much appreciated.

I have confirmed that my iPod has better sound quality. I plugged in another set of headphones and it sounded terrible.

Tried opening volume mixer in the bottom right by clicking the speaker icon? See if all the sounds are maxed out.

Try playback devices and make sure your device is properly selected and right click in that and click properties. There is a tab in there that allows you to adjust the volume.

Have you looked for sound drivers on your motherboard and uninstalled/reinstalled accordingly? Looked into any other threads that have similar issues with your mobo?
