I see a definite change in how we play video advertisements in the dual window. I also do NOT see the type of video controls, (sound, position, pause, etc.) that was present in every one of my captured failure moments.

I see the same ads that failed previously and don't now, but even those have different controls.

If that change was not done by us, but by the advertisers, then perhaps we need to characterize what they did to change the controls. If it was us, then we already know. I am willing to continue to try to find a plug or patch to Internet Exploere that would allow the old controls to work, but I would need the system to start failing again in order to do that. Our WEB site is the only place where I experienced these problems.

I don't use IE10 so I updated to it and begin troubleshooting 30 minutes ago. Here are my findings for my particular case.

Reproduction:
-Open IE10
-Click Tools> Manage add-ons
-Under Toolbars and Extensions: Make sure Shockwave Flash Object is Enabled/Installed
-Click Close
-Visit www.edge-gamers.com and surf the website until a video ad appears at the bottom of the page
-Crash
-Close IE10

I found my problem occurred with Internet Explorer version 9 too. However, I no longer experience crashes like this. I believe it is due to something specific about the video ad. My system would crash when a specific type of video ad appeard that had specific tools in it that were displayed in a unique way. The video ad controls have changed for our WEB site to something different and I no longer have a problem.

If I ever experience the problem again, then I will try this. For now, things are working fine for me.

Internet Explorer also STOPPED crashing.

Well, and here we go again, back to the crashes with the video advertisements.

I am looking to do a fresh install, and kick my daughter off of this machine so she can't install anything on it. She clobbers my scores in DoD anyways. She has put other games on here as well, so I hope to limit what goes on this machine and see what happens.

The problem is definitely not you, per say. Reformatting will most likely not fix your problem.

I'm no web designer but if I were to take a wild guess I'd say there's a JavaScript attempting to pull up the video ad from the ad server. When it does flash is like HOLD THE PHONE this could be malicious, so it halts the JavaScript thus creating the crashes.

And herein lies my conundrum. I'm not sure if it's Adobe's fault or the JavaScript's fault.

But rest assured Artimus has sent in additional information and maybe the ad company will reply back with some good news.

In the meantime, as others have suggested, installing a better browser such as Mozilla's Firefox or Google's Chrome is the best solution to fix your problem.
