I LOVE THIS MAP.........I HATE DEATHMATCH. There are way too many crackhouse DM servers. Any thoughts on just a regular Crackhouse.

Sincerely, a concerned member.

Why are you in my forums -_-

I love classic crackhouse, but id rather just have it deathmatch. The deathmatch lets players get something different on our servers then just basic save hosties plant bomb win lose game modes.

I personally love DM and it actually makes me want to play on our CSS servers.

Love it, only bad thing in my opinion is the random spawns, would much rather have it be normal ct and t spawns of the map. Just my 2 cents. :D

It was changed back to normal spawns yesterday.

Speaking of which, we have had a couple of complaints about the default spawns since we switched them back. Seems some people would like them random. Tell me your thoughts, your storys, your background on why its better to have random or default spawns.

One reason: spawn killing. While it's deathmatch and there is spawn protection, the default spawns can quite easily lead to spawn killing. One example is there being more skilled CTs than Ts and they get to rush into T spawn and camp the bottom of the stairs. Another example is there being a lot of AWPers on T that rush to the top of the building to the left of CT spawn, and they constantly AWP CTs as their spawn protection wears off; they also shoot them coming down the ally before they notice it. Therefore, I would like random spawns over preset/default. Random also makes things more interesting in most scenarios.

Just played with normal spawns. Problem is that the T-Spawn is a camp fest for Ts and rush fest for CTs. At least with random spawns you have a equal chance to have a good spot or a bad spot.

When you get a decently filled server, 20 or more its not that bad as someone may try to camp the spawn but you get so many respawning back its easy for that camper to get killed. I've played on a 24/7 dm server thats a 40 man slot and they have normal spawns and when it gets busy its a lot of fun.

Crackhouse has been around for a good while. This map is one of the most popular DM maps in CSS. Most successful Crackhouse servers I have played on have normal spawn. The spawn camping issue is just a part of the map, but is not really that big of a deal if you ask me. You can't spawn kill CT's from Neutral or CT roof with out first taking it. The Map favors CT already because they have easy access to Neutral and CT roof and can camp vents on both. If a CT team is getting owned by T's on either of those roofs it is their own fault for not taking advantage of their easy access to them.

Spawn killing T's is much harder. If you can go upstairs and stay there for any length of time good for you. Most can't because the T's are constantly respawning. If CT's are camping the bottom of the stairs so what, T's can jump out multiple windows or go to their own roof.

The maps success in my opinion is the result of endless battles over the roofs and the Crackhouse itself. Using random spawns turns all of this off. It is like playing COD Nuketown.

The best balance in my opinion for this map is standard spawn. Even though the AWP is one of my favorite weapons I also think this map is much better without Awps or Autos.

I love the death match server I always play in with the standard spawn. The random spawns are ok but I think the standard spawns are more of a good time.

On one hand, as many have said, spawn camping sucks. There are skilled people that spawn camp and cause problems for people not skilled enough to handle it.

On the other hand, isn't that what CSS (and every game ever made) is about? Skilled people beating lesser skilled people, and lesser skilled people getting more skilled?

On the other other hand, when people that can't handle the spawn campers effectively get killed 30 times in a row as soon as their protection wears off, they leave. This leads to empty servers.

I don't know. In my opinion, being fairly skilled and being fully capable of dealing with spawn campers effectively, I like the spawns being normal. Whatever the decision on spawns be, though, I think that there should be a sticky somewhere about the rules in DM, because in some cases I've seen admins spawn camping and/or not caring about spawn campers, in other cases I've been threatened with a call to an adviser for doing it myself. There really needs to be a universal understanding between all members of the rules on spawn camping in Crackhouse, as to prevent conflict.

Standard spawn has my vote. I hate to random spawn, just to get shot in the back of the head. With the standard spawn, you know where you are going to spawn and can adjust to the campers.

I have yet to play a Crackhouse DM server where spawn camping was actually a big problem. Sure you might get killed once or twice in your spawn but it isnt a problem if you have any skill and spawn protection is on. I like the set spawn points more than random.

On the other other hand...

Your three hands made me laugh. :-)

I prefer to have regular spawns, in large part for the same reasons that have been mentioned already. It adds an element of tact to the game, requiring teams to fight for control of certain areas, as opposed to an all out perpetual war day based entirely on chance.

T's get stuck in the house and can't leave because of people camping downstairs.
