Good Evening Edge-Gamers!

As many of you know, the Operation: X division exists to examine new games and weigh their potential within the eGO brand. Recently a new MMORPG has caught the eye of multiple members of OP:X, Wildstar!

Wildstar is a game still in its Alpha stages, yet even there it shows promise, combining some of the best features the MMO genre has seen in the last decade. From Player Housing akin to that in Star Wars Galaxies, to Guild Vs. Guild PvP combat! However, the most striking feature in my mind is the attitude of the developers, and the atmosphere they are trying to build into the game. I could go on, but nothing really explains it better than their trailer.

As you can see, this is a game meant to be FUN. No holds-bar, giant combat, wetbars in your house FUN!

As I stated before, this game is not yet in BETA, however that is about to change. At PAX East 2013, The Wildstar DevTeam announced that the Closed Beta would be launched within a Month! That is right, A MONTH! This provides eGO with an wonderful opportunity. Their sign-up page for possible Closed Beta Access inquires about Gaming Organizations, and OP:X Council has approved the entry of information regarding eGO! We hope that if enough people sign up and fill out their form as members of the clan, we will guarantee either a wider participation in the Closed Beta or perhaps Closed Beta passes to give out ourselves (pure speculation :P ).

It is important for OP:X to be able to get to know a game before launch, so we take Beta testing pretty seriously. This is where all of you awesome gamers come in! Head to http://www.wildstar-online.com/en/beta/ and fill out the form. When asked about your gaming organization please ENTER THE FOLLOWING INFO:

Information should be filled out as follows:

Group Name: Edge Gamers Organization

Group Leader Name: The Yeti

Group Leadership Email: [email protected]

Group Size: >100

Group Website: www.edge-gamers.com

Whether you enjoy MMORPGs or want to try one out, I implore you all to hop over to their site and fill out a form for Beta access. Heck, even if you don't want to play, the act of merely filling it out might help show the DevTeam that eGO means business and our chance of getting those invites go up.

Thank You for you time, and if you like what you have seen, and signed up, here are some links for you to visit to get some more info on this awesome looking game.

I personally urge everyone who ends up playing to try BOTH factions. Some people have come out very strongly in support of one faction or the other, even I favor the Exiles :P. However In the interest of SCIENCE! I will play both factions extensively in the Beta (closed if i get an invite, open if i dont :\ ). Who knows how we'll feel after getting our hands dirty!

Bam! Applied. I am and have been super excited for Wildstar for several months now after they detailed some incredibly cool, innovative features they're promising.

It depends if it's asymmetrically balanced or not. If the only difference is one little thing there won't be much purpose.

I'm actually kind of surprised that balance appears to be symmetrical. From everything I've heard about the game (someone correct me if I'm wrong), there's no racial stats/traits/abilities and each faction has access to the same classes. It seems like the only impact of choosing a faction are the races available and obvious stuff like quest / story lines, starting zones, etc.

Well that is a bit depressing. Never really liked games that has choices but barely affect games.

I'm actually really happy about it, since it prevents balance being skewed in favor of one faction/race/mirror class. That always irked me about games like WoW and WAR and TOR. Plus I've no doubts that the quests, zones, raids and content will likely be incredibly different across factions.

Signed up for Beta. Have been following this since last year. I hope it lives up to my expectations. It looks to have a lot of humor and fun. EGO war plots / houses near each other has potential to be pretty cool.

I have to say the idea of war plots seems really fun; it would be a problem after all warplots were claimed. Would break the purpose of WARplots if they were in a private local area thing.

not unless the warplot area has different zones/mini-servers (servers within the server just for warplots, just choose the number yours is on) and/or expands with expansions

Like I said, having mini-servers would break the purpose of a warplot if it won't face war. Expanding the land could work but it may not be good for framerate if there is too many warplots.

Your forgetting how Guild Wars 2 does pvp, world vs world, and seeing as ncsoft is a part of both games, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a similar system for warplots
