New case

I will be upgrading my current case (CM Storm Scout) to the HAF 912 possibly next month. Main reason for this is because in my current case, the 200mm fan on top has started to make whining noises. Besides ive been wanting to get rid of this case because it really doesnt allow me to switch out the case fans as id like (they're all wired in the top right corner of the case, near the power switch panel). I really love the layout & look of the HAF 912 case & the fact that the price is bout the same as what I paid for the Storm Scout like 4-5 years ago makes it a good time to upgrade.

Heres where you guys come in. They have an available spot on top where I can install either 2x120mm fans or 1x200mm fan. Im seriously leaning towards the 120mm fans since there's a bigger selection to choose from. Price wise between the 120mm & 200mm is bout the same, so im not worried bout that. The big thing I want is air flow. The idea is that im gonna face the fans toward the cpu so that I can help keep it extra cool (besides the aftermarket heatsink). Also I do plan to get a fan controller in the future (just thought I would point that out, but dont need suggestions on that yet).

Any & all suggestions are welcome.

I can't speak on the case because I've never used a high-end CM case. I would go for the 2x120mm for the same reasons. You'll still get nearly silent air movement, and when the fan(s) die (which they will... eventually) you can replace one or both for much less, and with many more options.

If you're after silence, I'd get the fan controller sooner rather than later. You definitely don't need 100% power from those fans, no matter what size you go with.

Got a lil update here: since I recently got a fantastic deal on a 5 pack of antivirus software for Eset, im gettin 20% off on case fans. My question is, since im planning on getting that HAF 912 case, what kinda 120mm fans should I get with it? My plan is to point the fans toward the cpu to keep it as cool as possible. I only have 1 green led fan right now, but I do have plans in the future to change the front & back out for green led as well. However, current plan is to go for massive airflow.

Like usual, any & all suggestions are welcome.

I prefer Scythe fans. I've never had one die (the oldest one I have is 6 years old) and they are very quiet.

Never heard of them but 6 years is pretty impressive. I wouldnt go anywhere above 120mm. Its hard to find a decent fans that are bigger than that.

Ya im planning on getting a pair of 120mm fans for the top. Ive also been recommended on the Scythe fans more than once before, so ill check out the stats tomorrow. I get paid on Thursday, so itll be ordered here soon.

It's a Japanese company. Their products aren't flashy but they're extremely high quality for what you pay. I've been passively cooling an overclocked E8400 (actually its the Xeon version) for 7 years with a Scythe heatsink (Ninja if anyone's wondering) and no fan without any problem.

They also make every size and shape of fan including low profile...

They're a good cooling company. I've heard nothing but positive reviews for their products. The only negativity associated with them is during specific heatsink/fan comparison tests, and they don't win for one small reason or another (decibel slightly louder than the winner; price just a lil higher than the winner, etc. etc..)
