The astronomers have noted the equinox and have declared a change of season. The weathermen... not so much. Still, we are entering the second quarter of 2013 and we have noted some changes. For instance, please enjoy the work of our new reporters as well as the talents of our old hands.

I've had occasion to visit the forums of a game developer's site. The contrast between it and EdgeGamers is staggering. There, new visitors come and ask the same questions the old hands have been seeing for months, and the newcomers are greeted with scorn and derision. Here we have a team of dedicated people who work at making new comers feel at home.

As you read your newsletter I hope you find it entertaining. I hope you feel at home.

For this month's article, we traveled all the way to TF2 land to have a special Meet the Leadership interview with Wize; the outstanding and handsome TF2 member.

Q) What is your position in the TF2 division?

A) My position in the TF2 Division is recruiting. I help people make babies so that their babies can make more babies.

Q) What kind of events does TF2 offer?

A) TF2 has a TON of events. Some are Class vs. Class, which is where each team is a specific class and they battle it out, fun events such as Saxton Hale which is a juggernaut type game, Monday Madness and Wackey Wednesdays which are a blast, and personally my favorite, Dog Tag Scrims. It gives a chance for =(e)= and =(eG)= ranked members to fight against each other and whoever wins plays against the O's. There are a ton more and you can check them out in the TF2 forums. I would like to give a big shout-out to the ECs in the TF2 division. You guys do a great job. Keep it up.

Q) Do you guys have any recruiting drives?

A) We certainly do. Every Thursday at 9:00 PM ET, 8:00 CT

Q) Can you earn anything from the TF2 recruiting drives?

A) You can win a lot of things from recruiting drives. For anyone that plays TF2, We have hats, keys, metal, weapons, stranges and more. We also have some prizes for people who just want to help from a different division such as games or beta keys. We even sometimes give away unusuals. For people who don't know what unusuals are, they are hats with cool effect such as fire or smoke. There are a ton of different types, effects, and styles.

Q) Do you have any tips for us on becoming better players?

A) Practice, Practice, Practice. TF2 is not your typical team-based first-person shooter multi-player video game. You have to figure out what class you like the most and practice it. I tell people that so they aren't discouraged when playing TF2. I know there are some great players that will ROFLSTOMPYOLOUMADBRO? you but just understand that there will always be someone better than you at anything you do. You just need to work hard and improve what you do so that one day you can become better than them. If you are a player trying to get more into the competitive scene, try going to Tf2lobby.com. It has people running servers with the typical competitive format which is either 9v9 and everyone plays one of each class or 6v6 which is 2 soldiers, 2 scouts, 1 demo and 1 medic. They are extremely fun.

Q) Here's a personal one: What's your favorite color?

A) I have two: Gamboge and chipotle. I believe chipotle is the color of love.

Q) What items do you have in your TF2 backpack?

A) I have a lot of things in my backpack. I have hats, metal, keys, awesome miscellaneous items, unusual hats and it's always growing. I'm a TF2 trader fanatic. If you ever need help feel free to ask me.

Q) When's the first time you played TF2?

A) My first time playing TF2 was during a cold and rainy day. I was at my friend's house and he was playing on an eGO server that we used to have called BlackMesa. I asked him if I could try it and I was hooked from the start. Later that week I bought TF2 and just played BlackMesa non-stop. I was recruited on that server by Darth and well... Look where I am now.

Q) What does the {R} tag in your name stand for?

A) The {R} tag represents that you are a recruiter. People come on our servers daily and will sometimes ask "How can I join?" and will see that a recruiter is on. The recruiter will then assist them in the process of joining eGO.

Q) Anything you'd like to say to our great community?

A) Thank you. eGO has given me a ton of great memories and I'm always having fun here. I enjoy serving the community and when you guys are happy, I am too. eGO has a special place in the internet world. We provide a mature gaming atmosphere where people can game freely without having to worry about language and bullying and just have fun. This community is a giant happy family and we are always looking for people to join our family so that they can enjoy what we have to offer. Keep up the great work guys. With the love and dedication everyone gives here in eGO, we will continue to grow and we will make eGO a great place to be.

Thank you, Wize, for your time. We sincerely appreciate it and wish you and your division the best forever.

Do you ever find yourself asking questions such as "Where can I post a server suggestion for eGO?" or "How can I nominate Soandso for a certain award?" Well ask no more, because there is a place for that, and it is called the Drop Box. The Drop Box is a means, for members of the eGO community, to contact leadership directly.

Not only is the Drop Box used for reporting server issues or suggesting changes, it is also used to post concerns you may have that you wouldn't like revealed to the public. Additionally, it is used to recommend awards and promotions for members who have shown exemplary dedication towards eGO. When you post a promotion or award recommendation, leadership will observe that member to see if they are indeed eligible.

But what about this? Imagine you are playing on your favorite eGO server and suddenly an admin decides to randomly kick players because they are constantly killing that admin. This would be extremely rare in eGO servers, but what would you do if it happened? If no other leadership members are online to help, the best course of action is going to the Drop Box and posting a "Neighborhood Watch" for that admin. The same scenario goes for basic members and pubs who are causing issues. Simply create a Drop Box with a "Neighborhood Watch" prefix and leadership will look into it. Remember to provide the players name and if possible their Steam id. It also helps leadership if you include the server name and the time and date it occurred.

So remember, the Drop Box has its many uses. Now that you are aware, hopefully you will utilize it more often. Don't forget, the Drop Box can only be viewed by Advisors and up. Your thread and its responses are entirely confidential and is one of the more efficient ways to convey information directly to leadership.

What is the Personnel Service Center? They are the dedicated people who make newcomers feel welcome and help them get acquainted with EdgeGamers. Who are they? Well check out the PSC Roster. As you can see they represent all of our divisions.

In addition to the =(e)= orientation meetings, the PSC regularly sponsor events. Did you know that you can get an award just by attending one of these events? There is another award if you win a PSC Event. Check out the Calendar to see what's scheduled.

New to the PSC is the PSC scenario quiz. If you see folk sporting the coveted PSC Admin Tangerine you know they are quiz masters.

How have you prepared for the zombie apocalypse? Although there are many theories, most experts agree that zombies are susceptible to the head shot. As a public service, the BF3 Division has summoned all known zombies to one location, on one day, and at one time. The Friday night bash is not recommended for the faint of heart. However, if you wish to test your mettle against a swarm of flesh-eating zombies using clever tactics to surround and feast on their human enemies in the markets of Grand Bazaar, join the BF3 events server on Friday evenings starting at 9:00 p.m. ET and ending late (or even early the next morning). See this post for more details.

The only constant in the BF Division is change. End Game, the latest DLC for BF3 has been released, and the Division has promptly responded by adding a server dedicated to End Game, running the popular Capture the flag mode. In the meantime, the BF3 All Maps server cracked the top 50 servers in the world in the first part of March. Even after some lag issues the server remains within the reach of the top 100, almost always having a queue. Of course leadership is addressing the lag issue. While there is likely to be a temporary loss of one server, two new 64-slot servers will soon be available for smooth game-play. More details can be found here. Due to a resurgence of popularity and recruitment, BC2 added a third server: Normal Mixed Mode. Music christened the newest server by hosting a "Vietnam Roadtrip" event. ThundrRok was kind enough to record the shenanigans. Skagnatti followed up with a "Getting Worked Over" event. The server is already known as a place for some hilarity.

The changes do not end there. Everyone in the Division is anxiously awaiting the release of BF4, which was announced and showcased with a 17 minute video trailer of gameplay on March 27, posted here. BF4 is expected to be released in late 2013. The early word is that BF4 should be on the top of your Holiday list.

The BF3 competitive team continues to roll along. After a first match win in the 32 v 32 bracket, we were narrowly defeated by Rebel Regement and Reddit in the first two weeks of March. However, the eGO squad handed Reddit its first loss in the 12 v 12 bracket, then beat the infamous Team Level, and have proceeded to the semi-finals for its bracket. The match against Reddit was epic, slated to last 30 minute, the game lasted nearly two hours with both sides fighting it out for every ticket. The 5 V 5 team ended its CEVO season in the top 25, failing to make the playoff by just a few points. But it rebounded to win the GC 4 V 4 squad rush tournament, finishing with a perfect 5-0 record. More games are scheduled in April as eGO’s presence in the competitive world is ramped up. The team has been revamped into various Army Groups led by individual captains to facilitate faster deployment and better tactics. Check the competitive forums for more details.

Thanks to KillerCanKill, Skagnatti, and Jtipton. for their prompt responses to my inquiries.

It is spring in Northern Hemisphere. This is the season for things to be popping up out of the ground; things like tulips and crocuses and the undead. That's right, I said the undead. Call of Duty has an event so popular that corpses are climbing out of their graves just to play; the zombie server. Look for updates in the calendar and in the Call of Duty discussion. I asked CoD leadership to throw me a bone and they did. That it was covered in decaying flesh was a bit of a surprise. I had better get over to the Pack-a-Punch machine and get my weapons upgraded.

Speaking of fighting the unsavory, have you ever wanted a chance to murder, maim or mutilate EdgeGamers leadership? Set your event reminder for April 13, when CoD is hosting a Royal Rumble. Advisors, Division Leaders and possibly Council members are cleaning their weapons in anticipation. Don't worry about repercussions. What happens in the Rumble, stays in the Rumble.

On the ides of March ten Call of Duty e's received their eG and three eG's were promoted to eGO. CoD leadership wishes to congratulate the promotees and thank them for their commitment to EdgeGamers.

Rumor has it that Call of Duty's Council member, Rocko, will be shaving his mustache in April. How he plans to dust his cookies we have no idea.

Have you ever wondered where new eGO divisions begin? In some cases, it all starts in Operation:X, better known as Op:X. This division hosts new games, usually by first providing forums. Member participation determines whether or not a game is suitable to be its own division. Take Planetside 2 for example; Since being brought into Op:X, the game has brought many new players to eGO. If interest can be sustained, there is potential to create a new division. On the other side of the coin, Guild Wars 2 was recently dropped as an eGO supported game. Per Op:X Council member DigitalDJ "there was lack of support for the game". Additionally, ARMA2 fans may have noticed the DayZ server was also dropped.

World of Tanks is going strong with their participation in the Classic Season 2 tournaments. They have won most of the battles they have taken part in. If you are interested in joining a tournament with eGO, you can find more information here. Scores from the Spring Season Qualifying rounds are here. In the words of eGO member Bulliwyf, ?I would like to think we are getting better.? You can see how the teams are doing by visiting this thread. With all of this tournament talk, WoT members have created a Competitive Team.

Additionally, Dark_Frost has agreed to be the Event Coordinator for WoT. In Planetside 2, a game update has brought new things, such as rocket launchers. In ARMA2, the official eGO 'Operation Arrowhead' server is in much need of some help. Take part in the rescue by joining on IP: 68.168.103.58:3302. If you want to be on the cutting edge, ARMA3 Alpha is now available on Steam. Remember, if there is enough support for this game, Op:X may bring it under their wing upon its official release.

If you ever find yourself needing to contact Op:X leadership, you can find the roster here. Click THIS LINK to check out all of the Op:X Steam Groups. Check out the Op:X Weekly Events Listings for upcoming events and dates.

Do you love first person shooters? Does seeing the realistic weapons and environments get you excited? Well then Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is a completely different animal for you! Sure, there will be blood and guts splattered on walls (the game is kind enough to point out your body parts after you die), but the weapons and armors that you can equip on your character take creativeness to the extreme.

When you join one of our many servers, you have the choice of joining team Red or team Blue. Then you can pick a character. You can be a Scout that specializes in running fast and boinking enemies on the head with a baseball bat. Be a Demoman and shoot different types of grenades for tons of damage. Soldiers use rocket launchers to blow enemies to bits, and Heavies use machine guns to tear through their enemies. Engineers build sentry guns and supply depots to help protect and heal friends. Spies can turn invisible and stab enemies in the back with a "spycicle" to freeze them to death. Medics heal teammates and can turn them temporarily invulnerable. Snipers, of course, set their sights on enemy heads for one-shot kills. Pyros burn enemies to a crisp with various flamethrowers. How do you get these wicked weapons, hats, and gear, you might ask? Simple: While you play, you have the opportunity to "find" these items. You may find boxes that you can open for materials for making upgrades, too. You can also trade, buy, or sell items with other TF2 players. You can also play Man vs. Machine and pick up five of your friends to take on machines as they try to blow your base up.

In eGO's most popular map, 2fort (IP: 69.64.95.111:27015), teams of 16 are on either side of a reservoir and try to take each others' intelligence cases; although most players just enjoy running around racking up frags.

The following four servers are Capture Point servers, where your team tries to either attack or defend three to five control points before time runs out. Enjoy going back and forth in this tug of war for map domination.

Dustbowl (IP: 64.150.186.180:27015)
Foundry (IP: 184.173.219.128:27015)
Harvest (IP: 67.228.175.240:27015)
CP Rotation (IP: 184.173.219.129:27015)

The next two servers are Payload servers. On these maps, your objective is to move a cart with a bomb from your spawn point to the other side of the map. Your enemies will try to stop you by either backing the cart toward your spawn, or not allowing you to go near the cart.

Valve Maps (IP: 64.150.183.207:27015) allow you to race the other team with your cart against theirs to see who can move their cart to the end point fastest.
Payload (IP: 68.168.100.16:27015)

Whether you like to grab intelligence, capture points, or move bombs, there are plenty of popular EdgeGamers servers to choose from.

Nice read, thanks everyone! What ever happened to the other divisions' news? Like DoD, CS, ect

We've been asked to concentrate on a few divisions each month. It makes for a shorter read. In the alternate months we give priority to the divisions we missed the last time.

So, do you like the compact version?

No. The entire reason I open this is to read about CS and DoD:S. I don't see them. *closes page*

Thanks for interviewing me! I had a lot of fun doing it! :)

well quaffer i dont mind reading something that,s a long read especially when its something as well written as u write

I agree with long being ok with it written well. eGO is too big for a small newsletter.

Great reading's, but I also agree what is going on in the DOD:S and CS:S division I would truly love to read up on that.... Great Job everyone... :p
