I finally decided to get a 27" IPS Monitor, 2560x1440 resolution

Anyways my question is: The monitor uses a DVI-D Dual Link for connection and my XFX Radeon 6870 has a DVI-I Dual Link. So will I have any problems?

You are good to go. DVI-D is a digital only connection, DVI-I provides both analog and digital signals.

Think of DVI-I as as the universal donor of the DVI world, it will work with any monitor supporting DVI-A, DVI-D, or DVI-I, as well as VGA and HDMI.

Correct on graphics cards/output sources, but not for cables. A DVI-I cable wont fit in a DVI-D port, unless your break off some pins and force it in. I learned that the hard way :facewall:
