Hello! I recently got League and so far I LOVE it. I got to level 5 to level ten in about 2 days. While my favorite champ right now is tryndamere (nothing beats chopping down an enemy with your Infinity edge) but I have recently been playing Soraka a lot. I was looking for a good support champ and Soraka is what I chose. Now, I know that soraka is usually played as an offensive mage and not so much a support, but I personally like her more as a team carrying support.

So my question is, do you guys no any builds for a support soraka? And, what is your opinion on support vs. offensive soraka?

Thanks!

I used to play soraka back in the day until I fell in love with nami.

As far as builds go I would grab 4 wards and a mana bead for starters. Work your way into a philosopher stone and a ruby sight stone crystal. From there items that you get are totally based on their team comp. Ex: If they are ad heavy trying getting a frozen heart ect. Soraka is a poor late game champ and squishy early game so keep that in mind during the game.

If this didn't really help you a whole lot check out: www.teamliquid.net. Their league forums hold some more indepth information about builds that you could look at. That or you could just look up "soraka builds" on YouTube.

Ap soraka, 'offensive soraka', is something I like to use against champions that can be easily kited. But I wouldn't use her for much else.

Hope with helps.

Edit: didn't talk much about runes and masteries but since you are level 10 it's not a very big deal to worry.

CDR is your friend for Soraka. Those freaking huge cooldowns for your heal and ult are horrendous. After that it's more or less looking what your team needs. Would an early Aegis be good, any other auras out there that could work out in your favor or if you think you need a lot of vision (thanks to the 1001 smurfs running around) get a Sightstone.

Well, that's how I play at least. Generally works with most support champs. Of course the longer you play the more little things you find that are good for your play style, like getting a couple small AP items for giggles.

As support you almost never want to go for AP unless you're a very offensive support (see Elise, Janna, Fiddlesticks, Nidalee, Orianna, Lux and Zyra) OR very fed

With supports like Taric, Soraka, Alistar, Blitz, Tresh, Leona, Lulu, Nunu, Nami, Sona and Zilean you generally want to go with CDR and a tanky build depending on what is needed.
As for starter items for these supports it's a choice to either get ruby sightstone straight away to get more vision or you can choose to get philo stone first and get a little more money stacking up. You will not want to build the philo into a shurelias before it has gained enough money for it to be worth it.

For midgame Locket of Iron Solari or Aegis(built into bulwark later) is good choices. Locket if you're against a lot of AD and Aegis for the MR.

Supports are all about the Aura items and activeable items which helps your team. You're the backbone of your team after all.

For offensive supports I suggest getting Kage + sightstone early and later getting the morellonomicon.
