is it weird that Im better at sniper rifle than the huntsman?
Please reassure me that Im not going crazy :(

Sniper rifle is a lot better than the huntsman. It is effective at all ranges, especially long ranges, while huntsman is only useful in close to mid ranges. Plus, it is a hit scan weapon, so it does instant damage and hits where you aim rather than an ark.

The Huntsman is referred to as the "Lucksman" mostly due to how people use it. People tend to fire arrows across the map and pray for headshot/lucky body shot finishing someone off.

The only true example of a good huntsman player I've noticed is Doomtrain. If you'd like to see one of his montages, here it is [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77oMsnP6WI8[/ame]

Other than that, it is all how you use the weapon. Honestly though, I'd stick to the rifle.

Bullets are almost instantaneous, while arrows make some time to get to the target if you're at medium or long range, so you have to anticipate a players movements more than a sniper rifle requires. Basically, if you're going in at close-medium range, huntsman is pretty good, but medium-long range, use a rifle.

Why wouldn't you?

The Sniper Rifle is a Tool of Mass Head Explosion, the Huntsman is a Luck Charm. I am easily ten times better at the sniper rifle than the huntsman.

I give up on the Hunstman because I always gets 115-124 damage when most counter snipers have 125 HP

Rifles are point and click, so it's much easier to quickly become effective with it. I'd say the majority of TF2 players are better with a rifle than a huntsman. There's also a much higher skill ceiling when it comes to a rifle, as there becomes a point with a huntsman that you're trying to predict how another player is going to move and react.

A decent player can be pretty devastating with a bow though, despite the belief that it's based off of luck, random shots into a crowd or whatever the line of thinking is.

I got really good at the huntsman. Doomtrain's videos really inspired me. When he flicks over and kills a spy behind him, I've learned to do that! I love the huntsman. But honestly, I think it is a bit weird to be better at sniping seeing how you don't have to aim with the huntsman. Mainly why called lucksman. Makes people who know how to use it feel bad :c "Luckshot" "I...aimed for you D:"

I find I am pretty good at tracking and prediction, but my main problem is getting headshots. I'd rather zoom in and know exactly where I'm going to hit.

I can say I'm much better with the huntsman then the rifle, I panic with the rifle and when I try to aim over a target's head I end up twitching and missing by a long shot. With the Huntsman I can make quick decisions and flicks based on instinct and feeling that I'm much more comfortable with. I'm better no scoping then I am scoped in, it's ridiculous. I can't stand to play sniper for too long though, I'm a in your face kind of guy ~explains my KD that's for sure~.

Sniping with the Huntsman requires a completely different way of thinking on the battlefield than is required by the rifle. I hesitate to even compare the two.
