www.tomshardware.com has very good reviews and comparison charts. Their forums are also very helpful. I would check that card in comparison to others to see where it sits. (Use TomsHardware's VGA charts in the Graphics section.) Then take the cards near it, in performance, and price check them on sites like www.newegg.com
 
I'd say wait until nVidia comes out with the 8900 and see if the 2900's actually improve their drivers for the better.

Yea its a terrible card for gaming... It may have DX10 & Shader model 4 but it barely runs faster than the older X1300. Its a great card for the price when used for HD movie playback but gaming... not so much.

You'd get a decent performance increase (like 30% or more) if you snatch the nvidia 8500GT for like 10 bucks more.

EDIT:
Ummmm wow... I just found the best deal for a graphics card under $100 anywhere. Its a X1900GT for $89.99. This is ridiculous... its faster than a 7800GT or 7900GT and only slightly slower than ATI's previous king the X1900XT.

Same reason as above. It is not really a gaming card. Dig a little deeper into them pockets.....
