Sprays

Majority of the people in dods sprays haven't been working since the last update. I was just wondering if anyone knows the solution to the problem. I've tried moving it to common folder, to materials folder, and to the custom folder but nothing has worked. So if anybody knows how to get the sprays working, it would be greatly appreciated by not only me, but everyone else in the division who is having the same problem. Thank you!

I've been digging around for the past hour. Anyone who has any worthwhile information hasn't chosen to post it anywhere, Another "quality" patch, hahaha.

I even tried creating a .vtf so I could add my spray to the default list, and it didn't work.

Turn the lights off in your room, turn around 3 times, and clap click clap, then turn the lights on and off 5 times whilst shouting "bloody mary, bloody mary".

And it shall be fixed, BY MAGIC!

They may have to add the spray again in the Multiplayer Options since the recent Steampipe update change the directory of the file. For some people the spray got moved over for some it did not.

Steam requires image to be less than 256 by 256 (height and width). Never tried uploading a gif or jpeg, but I have a tutorial that shows how to make a spray downloading 2 simple programs (check my map making tutorial link in my signiture). Hope that helps!

here's my spray directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod\materials\vgui\logos

For some reason though, few sprays dont show up at times even though they should. So try restarting ur dods.

CSS, TF2 and DODs are 512x512, I was reading about it not too long ago, they doubled the size constraint. Source.

well to be honest sometimes sprays work, and sometimes they don't. I have ran into some maps not letting the spray work, and others that work.

Out of all my sprays there is only two that now works. I spray picture of all shapes and sizes so I am at a lose too. I use paint shop pro5 for my sprays and I have notice that raw keep popping up and I think that could be my problem.

When I spray my spray, I can't see it, but when I ask people if they see it, they can. So, I'm not sure whats wrong.
