CS:S Jail hat problem?

Everytime I try to put on a hat, I get this message.

"Sorry, but the model you are using doesn't support hats."

Everyone else can put on hats, but I can't. I am a dedicated supporter.

It won't let me change hats. Shows that message right when I press 2 for hats/glasses.

When you join a team you can pick a character model, not all hats go with that character model. Try the first person in the list and then try picking a hat
