A step Closer to a world with 4D TF2 virtual reality

I don't think the Source engine is capable of handling virtual reality gaming.

So I think to effectively implement this, Valve would either have to make a TF3 on a new platform or make Omni + Rift only TF2 servers (so keyboard and mouse users won't have an advantage).

(Beyond unlikely) WHAT IF VALVE HAS BEEN DEVELOPING ALL THE "3" GAMES ON A NEW GAME ENGINE THAT SUPPORTS OMNI + RIFT!?!?

That's pretty cool. Amazing to think back and remember conversing about the existence of these things in the "future", 5-10 years ago it seemed very unlikely. I guess tech really does advance fast.

I think it's still going to be awhile before it becomes affordable for most, and then a little while after that for it to become usefully implemented into most games, and then even MORE time before it becomes socially acceptable. Let's face it, you'll look like super nerd strapped into that thing.
An admittedly cool super nerd.

I don't think that virtual reality gaming will be in our homes for quite a few years honestly, and even when it does become an option, I don't think FPS games (at least competitive type ones) will get the full-blown VR setup, maybe 3d and such, but until tactile feedback becomes a thing (ie: you can't keep walking or move your body because you're trapped in carbonite) VR is going to be mildly frustrating to some degree, and still impractical.

Competitive players like myself most likely aren't going to touch this since a mouse and keyboard are much more effective and useful. I don't really have much to say on it, I haven't looked at it much nor do I have an interest in it.

But they beat you Fullmetal <3

I've know about this forever!
COME ON PEOPLE

This type of stuff has been around forever, just that now we're getting some slight advancements in the technology that are now used with TF2.

I don't think I'll ever play with Virtual Reality. Humans weren't built to stare at screens all day for one thing, but we definitely weren't built to have screens attached to our eyes and become completely disoriented with this fake field of depth

We still don't have flying cars?

Also, like everyone in the other thread asked,

y u no rocket jump?

I don't think they've implemented crouching and jumping yet. That seems like just a treadmill simply for running, this would explain this man's unwillingness to rocket jump.

Speaking of trying to rocket jump with the oculus
1002

Well, if we're talking physics, it's already in 4D, because the fourth dimension is time.

But I know what you mean ;)
