I'd say just pay the 5 bucks for HL1 and play it. It's a really great game. Better storyline than HL2 and Ep1... at least I think so. Graphics suck compared to source but it's a really great game.
I'd agree and say just buy it, beat it. I played it for the first time years after it's release and I'd been playing Classic DoD for a long time. Still enjoyed it, really fun game.
I don't think it had a better storyline than HL2/Episode 1, though. I'd say they felt very very similar, definately on par with one another.
Half Life 1 is excellent. I recently beat all 5 official installments (HL, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, HL2, and HL2e1) I'd have to say Opposing force is still my favourite.
It's probably the best PC game in history. I played it a few months after release, and have gone through it a few times since as well. It's great. You are a new employee there, and that's why they know you; you are a new face around the complex.
"The Black Mesa Research Facility (also referred to as simply Black Mesa in the games) is a fictional complex located in the desert of New Mexico, United States, and is the setting for most of the events of the computer game Half-Life and its expansions."
Ask me anything you wanna know about the HL series.. <and thor you're right, HL:OF is the best expansion pack for HL1> I mean people love Sheperd <I know I do> can't wait for him to come back. I mean since TF2 is finally coming out, it's not impossible for him to appear again anymore
or you can watch this about the whole game walk through its half life in half hour and the guy finishes the game in 30 mins lol you dont understand a thing from the storyline though
Opposing Force was good, killing scientists never gets old.
Blue Shift however is my favorite. It had the best playing part inside the second world out of the five.
