Where do you live?

You can get cables dirt cheap from Newegg and Amazon. One of my favorite stores (I think they have a shop in both those places) is cables2go. I got me a DVI cable for like $10 where as the local BestBuy is selling them for like $20. Think it actually was over $20. And I got free shipping.

But yeah. Cables in general are cheap. Most people just don't know better and buy them way overpriced. Unless you're a professional sound editor, graphic designer, music maker or something where you need the very top notch pure gold cables, there's no need for you to spend all that money to get supposedly "good" cables. The difference the common user sees in a $10 cable of any kind and a $100 one is nonexistent.
