EA has been sold the rights of making Star Wars games from Disney!!

EA has a reputation of awful games. But, with Star Wars, I don't know how they could screw that up. I really hope they do it justice though. I've been a huge fan of Star Wars since I was a small child.

I'll give EA this last chance to prove to me they don't suck by my standards.
 
I'm just hoping for DICE Frostbite Engine Battlefront and KotR 3 from bioware.

They lost that part of me when they started cramming Origin down my throat if I ever wanted to play one of their newer games ever again.
 
Exhibit A: Star Wars: The Old Republic, developed by BioWare, published by EA. Flopped so hard, it hurts to think the name.

Yeah, I have been waiting for battlefront 3 for years now, but I now worry that if it ever comes out, it will be the most disappointing game ever. As for Battlefront 3 on frostbite, hell no. Battlefront was awesome not for realism (although I wouldn't call frostbite realistic by any stretch) but for being the perfect shooter. No fancy upgrades for guns, no graphics so amazing they take dev time away from gameplay. No. Battlefront was gameplay gold, pure and simple.

I pray EA doesn't do to Star Wars what they have done to every good thing ever...
 
I like how in the article they continually talk about quality. I wouldn't be surprised if they had Bioware and DICE team up for Battlefront 3
 
Like everything EA now develops/publish, they screw it up. They're gonna screw this one up and screw it even more than what Old Republic did.

Every time I now see EA on any box art/trailers. I avoid with a 10ft long internet pole.
 
It's pretty funny, Disney kills LucasArts, cancels Star Wars 1313, and thins ILM...and then on top of all that, sells development rights to EA.

Still, somehow they're proving better for the Star Wars brand than George Lucas.
 
I just want Battlefront 3. The footage they had before looked really, really good... maybe they can pick up the pieces and make it something awesome.
 
EA: alright everything you have done in the game is good. Now strip it all down to it's bare essentials than sell the rest on day 1 DLC!

EA has the opposite of the midas touch. Somehow EA will find a way to make star wars less enjoyable.
 
Here buy this game for $60, now buy this light saber bundle for $15, another light saber pack for sale only $14 for a limited time buy now buy now. Pressure pressure.

In a more serious note: I used to play battlefront 2 24/7 I can only imagine the battle field quality graphics on a plot like starwars would be the best thing since ever and If it goes multiplayer(and is supported by ego) then I might just switch divisions.
 
Every major company is doing micro-transactions and bundles now, not just EA. Everyone is too quick to jump on the hate express.

And Star Wars the Old Republic wasn't a bad game by any means. The stories for each character were very well written. Gameplay was as good as any MMO out there. It was a pretty decent game all things considered. I've just found I'm not much into MMO's anymore.

I'm curious to see what will develop from this.

And is it really necessary to hate on EA so much? There's been so much negativity posted in this thread I fear any member who is actually optimistic about this development may be afraid to share because their optimism is immediately alienated. Come on, that's not what we're about.

Here you go man. He live streams Battlefront 3 on the xbox. It's a very early prototype. I believe it's 6 months older then the leaked footage on youtube so the framerate is terrible but it works. Kind of haha.

Dear god... EA? really? Well I hope they do alright with the rights, I really hope they make a new Jedi Knight Game, This has to be done... and Battlefront 3 they should be able to do alright with that?....right?

I mean EA tends to be assholes at times but Starwars...they can't ruin it...can they?
 
the last Star Wars game that deserves any appreciation is Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast.

Ever since then: MONEY GRABBBBBBBBBBBBBB and Childs Play
