If I'm not mistaken you need to change the XP theme, which can be done with special software that is usually not free. I've used StyleXP from http://www.tgtsoft.com before. Once you have the software there are plenty of free themes available.

There are hidden offical MS skins in Windows XP pro that you can unlock. It's a very easy process (you literally copy 2 files). One of them is called Royal, and the other one is Royal Noir (I use this one). The Royal Noir one looks like the vista one (it's black).

On the topic of changing your color scheme...

It's not "officially signed" by MS, so there is a patch [link=http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=167819](here)[/link] that will allow windows to run unsigned theme files.
