Server Ping rise ...

Wondering if anyone else has noticed a rise in some of the eGo servers in the last week (maybe week & a half).

I generally play on the Valve Maps, Payload & Foundry servers, and have noticed that my ping for Valve Maps & Payload have gone from a always steady 55 to now fluxing between 90 - 109 as well as 2fort (Foundry is still @ 45).
Figuring it must be something on my end, since if I recall right Valve Maps , Payload & 2fort aren't even in the same locations.

But ran trace routes to all 3 of the servers (& some of the others I'm not having an issue with) & got the same results back with all 3.
My latency is right in line as it should be right up to hop the last hop to the server itself (such as 64-150-183-207.dedicated.codero.net ) and that's where it makes it spike.

Has anything change config wise, anyone else having this?

I hear that the recent update has been breaking servers. Not sure if it's actually related, but it wouldn't really be surprising.

Same here man, Harvest used to be fine, but I have these weird lags from time to time, so I don't think it's just you.

I pretty much agree with this after I got killed by several players out of nowhere. Like, they were invisible and stuff.

I can't really recall the lag going on though since mine's 150 ping as usual.

Just to be clear, I'm not really talking about "LAG" here.

I'm just trying to figure out why my ping has increased by 40 - 50 (basically doubled) in 3 of our server with out any hop issues till I reach the servers themselves.

My ping has always been 5~30 ever since the foundry server switch.

That being said, my lag is still unplayable.

Actually, you guys are right, these might be a few different issues.

I actually had a lot of issues with invisible players when I was in Taiwan. I think it is lag related, but the easy fix for it is to reload your HUD (hud_reloadscheme, which also fixes that annoying medic ubercharge crackly thing staying on screen and other HUD issues), or to record and stop a demo (record "name of demo"; stop).

Yea, my ping has been a bit spotty, but nothing too drastic, I think my issue is independent from ping rising, so it might be a different issue altogether. It can be hard to tell sometimes

I made some tweaks to the server this morning, it should fix some of the ping spikes/lag. Valve is also looking into the issue as it has been all over the mailing list.

Ive experienced this as well, heard somewhere "6 or more people on a server, pings start to go nuts". I had the issue the other day where on 4 of our servers i'd have a 120-130 ping, other 3 id have a 40-50 ping and it stayed consistent for awhile but recently went away.

I believe tech advisors are work on the lag issues I still don't know if it has been fixed...

Had my hopes up there for a little while yesterday. My ping mysteriously was back down to 60 for a few hours yesterday after then POOF back up to 90 - 100.
Trace Routes still showing the same results, all is good right until I reach the server.
