On our servers i have seen many players curse and the filter would not catch it. Like they would spell the exact word nothing wrong but it is not filtered? Are our filters working yet because quite frankly im tired of immature players cussing all over the server.

Thanks in Advanced

The filters are part of the admin plugins, an admin plugin has not as of yet been released for TF2 (to my knowledge). Given this, there is no swear filter in the servers yet. What you do when someone is swearing, is politely warn them that foul language of that nature is not allowed on the eGO servers. If they don't stop, you can report them via a request ban thread here on the forums, or contact a council member who will be able to take care of them.

Now that TF2 has gone on it's official release, I can only assume an admin plugin will be released sometime in the near future, and I'm sure our fine higher ups will get it running for us as soon as they can.

I see now. Thanks P.T. Flea. And when i warn the other players i just simply and politely say Please Watch Your Language.

Cya on the servers!

Just remember when we do get the filter it will not catch everything so you will still have to ask people to stop(watch for simple things like spaces, a dot".", $ instead of s, and @ instead of a, remember
If the players language isn't stopped by the filter, do not warn/slap/slay/kick or use any other admin action against them. If they are trying to get by the filter, i.e. "f ag" instead of "***", take admin action.)

Is it alright for =(e)= members to warn others about swearing even though they don't have admin? I feel slightly awkward warning them when i'm just a recruit. Any thoughts?

That is an absolutely excellent choice, laddie! If you ask him to stop and he refuses, hop on x-fire or look for an admin to settle it!

There was recently a problem with that on the dod side of eGO. If there is an admin on, let the admin handle it, if not, ask him nicely to not do it and then do what Thor said.
