Opinions on Daft Punk: RAMs

As some of you may know, the new album "Random Access Memories" came out from Daft Punk a couple days ago. I personally have always loved Daft Punk and am extremely proud of this album.

What are your thoughts on Daft Punk, and what would you say about the album itself?

I really like it. Most of the songs are incredible, and enjoyable. All of them are incredibly produced. The recording quality is amazing.

My favorite tracks are definitely Contact, Giorgio by Morodor, and Instant Crush.

I personally also really love Daft Punk. I'm really not into electronic music, but Daft Punk is a huge exception. Discovery is incredible, Homework is incredible, Human after all is incredible, the Tron soundtrack is incredible. Heck, their live stuff is just as good as their studio stuff too.

I am ok with Daft Punk, their music is fun. I haven't checked out RAMs yet, but one song I have checked out and absolutely love is Get Lucky.

Like I said, I have enjoyed Daft Punk's sound and feel over the years, but this song is so different, it's wonderful. It sounds more like something from KC and the Sunshine Band in a way. If they did more like that I would probably enjoy them even more!

I had heard some pretty polarizing things about the album, so I was a little worried about it before I got a chance to hear it.

So far I've enjoyed it a good deal. I think a lot of the hate came from Daft Punk's stance on modern EMD, which they claim hasn't gone anywhere from where they last left it and wanted to bring something new to the scene...a pretty pompous mentality if you ask me.

Well, when you look at it from their POV; Daft Punk pretty much breathed life into the genre itself. I'm not saying no one else had a hand in it, but when you think of emd, most people would think Daft Punk. I do like some of the newer emd artists, but nothing really stellar sticks out in the genre itself. I would wager that is what they meant. But, I could be pointlessly defending massive arrogance.

I feel where you're coming from. I respect that, but I also highly appreciated a slight change up. It was probably experimentation and trying to adapt or create something fresh. I can't argue how highly addictive their old format was, but you know how it is. Adapt and Evolve.

I truly hope people don't turn against Daft Punk because of this album. I'm not saying I dislike it at all, but people would dislike them just because of what you stated. Breaking the old and implementing the new upsets some of the masses.

Uhg...honestly the only reason Human After All shouldn't be retconned out of history is the fact that it was heavily sampled in Alive 2007...which is arguably the best thing they've ever done.

I just listened to the entire album, buying it as soon as i get the money.
It's brilliant. I hope that they go on tour with this.

They will with out a doubt tour this album. It reached some insanely high sales last time I checked, but I don't know if it rivaled some of their older works.

I love Daft Punk's Original albums. But I think that their TRON album was horrible, and RAM was just not quite as "Daft Punk" Original I was hoping for. However, I love the album no the less, Its excellent music! Hopefully that made scene. >.>
