Good first steam game for the wife

Hey all,

The only game my wife has ever played is the Sims. I am trying to get her into some Steam games that I can play with her online.

She's into games similar to Portal or Legend of Zelda, the type that make your brain do a lot of work.

What would you all recommend for a game we both can start playing that can be our go-to game each afternoon/evening. I wanted it to be a steam game so I can get her into how Steam works and all that.

Portal 2 comes to mind. If you want something a bit more deep, Torchlight 2 is a great co-op game, and can be easily picked up by a causal gamer.

Maybe Terraria? Also for a non-steam game maybe Minecraft. I have a friend who introduced his wife to it and one of their weekly date nights became a Minecraft night.
