Hey guys!
Been a while since I released some of my work, but I always wanted to create a video that explains some tips that really worked for me as far as improving my game.

Tnx to Suayngam for uploading the video to youtube.
Crosshair is nearly invisible due to video quality. Download original file through link below video to see crosshair a little better. Watch in 480 for youtube (higher video quality).

http://www.adrive.com/public/7d48uF/Cushyskillstut.mp4

What is on the video:
-Mouse settings in windows 7 (might not be necessary since raw input setting in dods says it ignores OS mouse settings, but doesnt hurt to be safe).
-Gaming mouse to buy (just showed mine on amazon but try to buy a high dpi mouse).
-autoexec.cfg (the file that people use to disable some game features to increase fps and create less choppy game movement). This is VERY important.

-Keyboard settings and few important game utilities to consider.
-In game mouse settings (not OS mouse settings). [Raw input, mouse acceleration off, sensitivity].
-Audio settings (very important). Use a headset.
-Video settings (resolution and advanced video settings). [filtering mode try all of them].

-tweaking and trying out different mouse sensitivity as you test in game.
-minimap significance (making it easily accessible and understanding the map).
-recoil control (up right or left) [twitch shots].
-cursor positioning.
-model props that you can shoot through (wooden pole).
-in game sounds (weapon sounds and footsteps).
-twitch shots and timing shots.
-extreme twitch shots on bad cursor positioning.
-getting a big screen monitor.
-decreasing crosshair size more than what game ui allows using console command cl_crosshair_scale "value"
-support class (similar recoil to rifle class, keeping cursor still, accuracy of gun [spray], controlling recoil while moving cursor to different targets during shooting).
-knifing Joe the Plumber (haha jk).
-picking up weapons instead of reloading.
-not staying on cap for too long to avoid giving up your position.
-sniper class (noscoping on close distances due to delay in scoping, long twitch shots).

Things I didn't go over:

-bunny hopping when reloading to make yourself a hard target.
-garand (allies rifle class) how to use it affectively.
-standing still when shooting (due to spray increasing while walking).
-strafing

My autoexec.cfg:
Special tnx to Max Johnson for sharing it to me!

What do you guys think? Anything to add or to discuss?

All very solid Cushy. These are all important aspects of solid play.

I cannot stress enough how much mini-map and flag cap awareness matter; not only do they improve your ability to communicate with your team and coordinate objective priorities, but they also give you an edge over your competition on a personal level. If you can juggle in your brain not only your own movements but something like "staticdoom just went down tank alley, oh static just got killed by a sniper" then you know there's a enemy sniper at the end of tank alley without anyone ever calling it out. Watching for death icons on your minimap can tell you where your allies are meeting resistance and when you may be getting flanked.

Very nice Cushy or should I say Twitchy! Great info and you explained the details well.

How do you snipe with the thompson? I see people getting 100/1hit from across the map, and I must say I'm jealous.
/end sarcasm. Great tutorial!

Sensitivity should be as low as possible imo. I can barely turn 360 on my 10 inch mousepad.

As long as you can control the stg/bar in sitting position you should continue getting used to lowering your sensitivity. Majority of pro FPS-players use a ridiculously low sensitivity because it really helps with the aim.

Another simple tip in regard to picking up weapons..... just pick up an enemy weapon. Especially if you're in their spawn it can confuse them. If Allies hear a K98 go off at their first some will start looking for you. I know from experience :crying:

ya anomaly, i feel low sensitivity helps with long range shots. I decided to use 2.2 since it helps me alot with the support class.

For those who are thinking of using a low sensitivity, just make sure you have a huge mouse pad and is willing to move the mouse with longer distances on the pad.

^ this!

Thank you Cush!
Great Video.

Though one thing i found to be be always helpful is to demo a few good players, and watch how they play:
Case in point: I did demo Anti, and Blue during a realism match(not sure which one), and i observed how they moved and how they shot.

Thanks cushycush, your tips are most welcome.

My tips, would be the suicide run with a primed grenade to take off an MG-42 , works good for me !

And always play the game with the team concept ingrained (in da brain!), i cover you and you cover me...

Tnx guys, yes watching and learning is great, i watch lots of players on fragdods on youtube channel.

Also I love throwing cooked nades at mg's and piled up opponents too!!
