4th Annual eGO DoD FF League

Matz, I too read the recaps... They are funny. Look who has the most points so far! Thanks Peyton!

Alright ladies and gents, we're finally at the finish line with the last week of the regular season about to begin!

The mud is certainly clearer now (remember, the 3 division champs and next 5 best teams make the playoffs) --

Just too easy
The regular season has been a breeze for last year's 2nd runner-up Efren, being the first and only team (thus far) to lock up a playoff spot by winning his Donner division with a formidable 10-2 record and by far the highest points scored (1547.10).

The Battle for Avalanche and Kalt
Last year's runner-up Matzwhat is firmly in the driving seat to win the Avalanche division. A win over Joe the Plumber will secure his title as division champ, since his closest rival Dangle (also 8-4) is unlikely to make up the difference in points. If both teams manage to lose this week, then Joe the Plumber (7-5, 3rd in division) might just snatch victory if he is able to beat Matzwhat by more than 60 points this week. Silent Drifter is not far behind in 4th place in the division with a solid 7-5 record, but is even less likely to win the division and will have to win his matchup this week and hope he ends up as one of the 5 best teams after the 3 division winners in order to make the playoffs.

The race for Kalt is similarly a 2-horse race with the two 8-4 teams, BaCkStAb! and Hardwarebeer vying for the division champ title. There are no 7-5 teams in Kalt currently, so it simply comes down to whether BaCkStAb! and his 70-point advantage can hold Hardwarebeer off.

Outside looking in
Two 6-6 teams (Wewo and Q-tip) still have an outside chance of making the playoffs. They will definitely have to win big, and hope that the cards fall their way in the other matchups. Wewo has outperformed half the teams in this league since auto-drafting a team half-full of injured players, while Q-tip has disappointed especially after astutely nabbing Peyton Manning with the overall first pick of the draft.

Is it next year yet?
At least, that's the question BeeF, Skippy, Nuckin, DrCompton, Bay Area, and Fluxion have been asking. Some for a few weeks now.

Good luck to everyone this week and Happy Thanksgiving!

ohhhh man this is getting tense, can't wait to see who I get matched up with in the playoffs! And I hope my playoff luck carries into this year, I want another 200 pointer please! :D

Just brutal. This is why you must be at draft nights.. oh well :)

And then there were 8. Congrats to the following teams, listed in order of their final regular season rankings (and playoff seedings), who have braved the last 13 weeks and come out on top --

1. Efren (11-2, Donner Division Champ)
2. Dangle (9-4, Avalanche Division Champ)
3. BaCkStAb! (8-5, Kalt Division Champ)
4. (IO) SA (8-5)
5. Joe the Plumber (8-5)
6. MatzWhat (8-5)
7. Silent Drifter (8-5)
8. Hardwarebeer (8-5)

There really weren't any big surprises or movements in the playoff picture after last week's results, with the teams that were favorites to qualify all qualifying.

Biggest loser
Perhaps the team that came the closest but ended up short, was Kiwi. The only other 8-5 team to not make the playoffs, Kiwi missed out on the 8th and final playoff spot (taken by Hardwarebeer) by a mere 42 points, this even after winning his matchup against, yep, you guessed it, Hardwarebeer in the final week of the regular season.

One story about overachieving, and yet another about underachieving
Despite their impressive Week 13 victories, Wewo and Q-tip both came up short too, as the results of the other matchups did not do them any favors. I'll leave it to you to decide which underachieved and which overachieved.

An exercise in futility
Fluxion and Skippy, the two bottom-dwelling teams heading into Week 13, made sure they remained there with losses in their final games to close out their (might I say, pathetic, but at times hilarious) seasons.

Here are the playoff matchups. Now is when anything can happen, so pay no heed to regular season records. Good luck to all 8 of you!

wow, congrats guys, the playoffs came too quickly for me. Next year can we not do the draft on my anniversary (8/24)? Also, we gotta do two leagues, 18 teams was crazy, especially when I had the 18th pick:( Good luck to all.

4 wins in a row, not a bad way to end. I just can't have those 5 game losing streaks:facewall:

Good luck everybody. Also, I agree on the need for two leagues. Even though everyone stayed committed, 18 is just too many people (maybe im bitter because I couldnt pick up an FA QB better than Joe Flacco :P

You got it. If I accidentally set 8/24/14 as our draft date next year just let me know and I'll change it.

If we got up to 20 people then yes we would probably have split into 2 leagues this year. But two 9-team leagues is a no-go. One thing I forgot to do was reduce our roster size by 1 (either 1 starting lineup spot or 1 bench spot) after we expanded from 16 to 18 teams, which would have helped a bunch. Anyway, plenty of time between now and next year to see how many teams we end up with for next year's league.

Count me in next year. This was fun even though I was 15th place. Hopefully I can make the draft next time!

is this about football or is this about DoD im confused. I thought you guys had a foot ball pool but now i'm seeing map names and its all kinds of crazy

lol, its a fantasy football league, not a pool (no money involved). Skippy named the divisions after our servers. The only relation to DoD is that all team managers are in the DOD Division and, just like in DoD I am mediocre:(
