Of the two, I would buy a PS4 if I had the money.

I feel I should mention that I also like the WiiU and would buy one of those. Again, if I had the money.

The WiiU is crazy fun...until you exhaust the games library, and realize that (so far) there isn't much coming out anytime soon. Legolands is amazingly fun, and the side-scrolling Mario U is the best time I've had with him since the NES; still, you can only play those so long before wanting something else.

The eShop offerings for the WiiU is sparse; why they haven't released 3DS games on the WiiU shop is beyond me - they even list the 3DS games available, but you can't download them.

Folks, I want to point out that the title of the poll is "Which console do you think is worth buying?" and PC isn't really considered a console.

I also wanna point out a funny fact..
"Gaming PC's cost so much money!!!" -console gamer

Well lets take your 700 dollar computer you bought from best buy plus your ps4 plus your 5 bucks a month and you get... a beast computer...

A lot of people who buy desktop computers aren't going to go for a $700 computer if they aren't gaming, encoding video, etc. I know I wouldn't.

No love for the WiiU in the polls? Oh well.

The WII-U was released last year, so I leave only the two for the poll option. When comparing two objects about to reach completion is is kind of unfair to compare them to an already completed product. Though the WII-U will still have some pull when the market shifts come next gen release. I actually think that they may have intentionally released it a year early preparing for the revealing of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, by releasing it early they avoided having to fight for a cut of the market. Wii-U already played their cards and well.

PS 4 . I always have been a Playstation dude .. had and still have every Playstation since they started lol ..

Wii U. But anyways, here, some gifs that make a point about the much crap Xbox One is:

I seem to be the only person who realizes this is just marketing, not even that amazing marketing. Any person can tell the Microsoft messed up with showing the details of the xbox1 before e3 and not explaining their policies on certain things, skewing people's view of it early on. And few games (even though they said it wouldn't really have games and would focus on features) and Sony just took advantage of that. I wouldnt call it a burn or a crushing or anything, just simple marketing. A company makes a mistake, their rival realizes this and does the opposite, making more because of the mistake. And for the DRM for xbox1, all of you are using the internet now, so the 24 hour check wouldn't be much of a problem and if it happens in the background and isnt intrusive, what's the problem? the PS4 does have subscription service ($5 a month or $50 a year) so no free online for either console. And yea the used games thing is annoying but you can't buy used games for pc so I'm not to surprised.

Honestly I don't see how Sony "crushed" Microsoft, ignoring the 24 hour check and Used games, how did the PS4 surpass the Xbox1? Games looked nearly identical and ran smoothly on both so if someone could explain how Sony "burned them", that be great.

To me, the Xbox One doesn't feel as if it's an actual gaming console. Microsoft them selves dont even call it a console. Also, you would think Microsoft would've taken flaws from the PS4 announcement in Febuary to make it better, other than the hardware. There's been stuff going around about the new Kinect collecting information about the user without his/her consent, another big flaw that MS possibly overlooked. What Sony did was ballsy revealing their next-gen first and letting Microsoft gain the upperhand. But when MS retaliated with the One reveal, it really didn't work. They portrayed it as a DVR passthru for TV and other entertainment purposes that weren't gaming. They strayed too far from the path while Sony is keeping with the gaming aspect while integrating social features. It's what happened in the first impressions that is ultimately leading downhill for Xbox. While Sony may not have crushed MS, MS is crushing themselves going the path they're taking with the Xbox. On the good side, Xbox is basically a hyped up Roku or anything else with te addition of games(Also looking like a futuristic VCR). PS4 is meant for gaming with most of the hardware built just for that, all they did was add a few entertaiment apps and add ways that people can help others using the social features(Also It's actually somewhat unique design) Sony has the upper hand with design with the amazing Japanese designers and artists, not to mention money. Microsoft doesn't really need Xbox as it could support itself with Windows and their tablet. But they changed way too many things on the Xbox and broke it's gaming purpose. They lost tradition, and that's it.

That's like saying day one DLC in Battlefield 4 is just marketing, no its a ploy to get more money. People are not stupid, their privacy is at risk, no gamer likes DRM, mandatory online check, no gaming if offline for 24hrs, selling and lending games are restricted, from this info they must not be "marketing" to gamers. Sony burned Xbox because I don't know if you know if there is and have been a console war for a while now?

Actually on second thought, I don't want to join the "beat up Death's opinion" club. The first rule of which is to talk disparagingly about Death's opinion...coincidentally rules two through ten are roughly the same as rule one.

Huh? Consumer electronics live and die by their marketing. Period.

Sony is delivering a product of comparable power, listening to the demands of its audience rather than ignoring them (whether you think them trivial concerns or not), and doing so for 80% of the price.

By any definition of a capitalistic marketplace, that's crushing your competition.

Death, what are you going to say to all of the active duty service members who play their 360 offline right now? What about the people who simply want an offline gaming machine? What is stopping some hacker from accessing any of the countless web cams that would then be continuously wired to the internet? The 24 hour online check and the used game policies should be all that's needed to totally ignore the Xbox One as a competitor with the PS4. Those are aspects of the new Xbox that you CAN NOT ignore. Matter of fact, the used game policies is the main reason I won't be buying the new xbox. Microsoft is in no way acting to benefit the consumer, while Sony is at least making strides.

Microsoft got greedy (more so than before) and now are paying the price for it. If you plan on buying a $500 machine that will likely go through the equivalent of the "red ring" within 2 years then you are just naive. Just my opinion though.

The 360 was a solid competitor with the PS3..... but if I even buy a new console I'm heading back to Sony

I dont feel its a beating, just other people stating their opinions.

Look I'm not saying the 24 hour check is a good thing nor is the used game system. But for people who already have internet, the check is hardly a problem. But for people who don't have access to internet are left out and that sucks. But for the people who use soldiers overseas as an example (every time the check is brought up), how big of a market is that really? I doubt that group is large enough to kill Microsoft's sales. I think that eventually everyone will have internet though and Microsoft just made a huge goof by doing this too early, because this will probably start happening more and more. And for the kinect "spying" on you, if you're using a smartphone or internet, welcome to being spied on but with a smartphone, they know where you are at all times.

I'm sure some one said this either in this thread or another, but the xbox1 is shooting for an entertainment system (which consoles are) that puts it all in one thing. And is focusing on families, while supporting games. Yes, they aren't focusing on hardcore gamers, but again look at Wii sales, how many hardcore games are on there that are exclusives? Off the top of my head I can only think of 3 (house of the dead, no more heroes and Madworld) and yet the Wii sales actually dominated ps3 and xbox360 sales.

But for me, I'm only paying attention to the exclusives and what my friends will probably buy. And to me the xbox1 exclusives look better, the only ps4 exclusives that interest me are Killzone and Mad Max, while xbox1 has Ryse, Halo, Forza 5, Quantum Break, Sunset overdrive, and Dead Rising 3. However, I'm not going to buy it launch day, nor the ps4 launch day. For now I'll just stick with my pc, xbox360 and ps3.
