A few obvious yet not well known things on playing smart!

The problem with that Volcom is that spies are almost always in disguise, I'll chase a spy half way across a map if he doesn't have "Disguised as Enemy <blank>" when I mouse over him.

I agree with most all of them except the ones concerning spies. A good spy wouldn't fall for that engineer crap, and on almost all the maps there's a way to get entirely behind enemy lines without even being seen, no sense in running backwards. As if it's not already hard enough to defend yourself if you're discovered.

My only offer as of now would be to say that, while it's great to have a powerhouse offense, you still need some manner of defense. Remember, spies exist, and lots of people are just plain sneaky. If a team is entirely offense, they are incredibly easy to get past and defeat.

This is extremely evident on 2fort, but it happens everywhere.

Oh, and be sure to be actually playing... camping just isn't cool, unless you're an over-paranoid engineer.

Number 11.
When you look at the stats screen or the class selection screen and nobody on your team is a medic, do you and your team a favor and be a medic.

Ive got a tip about medics, dont prioritize heavy's. If the heavy is taking some damage and u see an injured scout or solider or any other class near by, the heavy can usually survive a few seconds with out u on him, take the time to heal ur ally because u never know how helpful that ally can be wile ur attacking, and if the heavy isn’t taking damage, stop wasting time healing him when hes not and heal other people.

Another thing to remember as a medic, u are the only thing between ur target and a spy, so watch ur targets back if you can, most of the time the spy is to quick for you, and if you dont have a mic its almost impossible to warn them before its to late, but also watch for opponents who think they are smarter then you by finding a way behind you, warn ur heavy or what ever target u have, and they will quickly stop that from happening, and if worse comes to worse the needle gun is very effective against people who charge in a straight line at you

Another thing you can attempt to do, is be a diversion, being a medic you are usually the main target. So if u see 4 soldiers shooting at ur heavy, try and get the fire on you so ur heavy, or what ever class u might be healing at that time, has a chance to take them down, because the medigun can only heal so fast, 4 soldiers on a 450 hp heavy are going to win that fight.

One last thing, dont fallow people blindly, if you think its to dangerous for you and a pyro or heavy or solider to rush into enemy base alone, just the 2 of you, dont do it. there’s no reason a medic should die for one guy when he could heal multiple guys and keep a push moving up...

that is all I think

Wow thor thanks for the advices and tips man...... when im on fire i run around and jump unless i see water lol.... and medic thingy that is up to debate... and as spy good point running backwards is good...

Another tip when a spy try to disguise yourself as the enemy spy so when u cloak yourself they dont care.
[/quote1194391235]

I find it VERY suspiscious to see a normal spy. They should ALWAYS be disguised as something, even if its another class on their team so that they dont know of the spy.

Dont forget you can disguise yourself as one of your team members, on two fort I disguise myself as a frendly soldier and jump down. Snipers will think you are just a soldier. Then you can cloak and disguise while crossing the bridge.

A good one to use on snipers if your a soldier is to send rockets downrange at them while advancing and zigzagin. It works great on 2fort, not so well on longer ranges like hydro, where you are at a huge disadvantage.

One that I always use now is when you meet up with the enemy ESPECIALLY other soldiers, when they shoot at the ground in front of you jump over the rockets. Usually you can return fire in the air and not get any damage whatsoever even if they get the jump on you.

One other is when advancing against a sniper and your laying down covering fire, dont shoot 1234 and reload. Put the timing off because usually I can trick the sniper to walk out right in front of another rocket.

In Well, if you can get in the water behind the other team, come up under one of the bridges. If you are a spy or scout, your gun is murder at that range.

I have seen it many times in 2Fort. A turrent in the water in the right area is killer.

As a pyro, don't neglect the axe either, its a nasty weapon, very deadly too, i think its capable of dropping a soldier in two hits, one on a critical, and it doesnt alert them to a pyro, they think it can be another class, and then after a whack, switch to flamer, and 'educate' them as to who it is, because honestly, as soldier or any other heavier class, whats the first thing you do when you suddenly catch on fire? (smart soldiers often fire twice at the ground, or turn and fire point black at you, they usually can take the hits)

That only works till someone reports it. Engineering stuff in the water is just free points for a good demo man. I can hit any place in the water from the ramparts without sticking my head out for snipers.

Number 2.
In real life, if you're on fire what do you do? Stop, Drop, and Roll? Exactly. Why do people run around like morons when they're on fire when it only makes it last longer? Stand still unless you're close to a health pack.

Yeah I've been on fire IRL and the last thing you think of is stop drop and roll. You basically just run around like a moron.

very nice tips! ya i also didnot know about #2, and about ur demoman tip, it makes sense, and since i only play demoman and nothin else, ive come to realize this and does help a lot, however it seems that on average this doesen't work to well, although im sure thats just me lol, I only have 11hours on him so far, so im still a demo noob i guess XD

I ahte when people run in zig zags it is so hard to snipe them, but how does letting the medic help, here the way it helps if lets asy the solider tsakes it, all people panic and attack the solider not the mdic and the poeple with intel then can kill everyone no problem since no one targets the medic that heals you,
but all the other hints are great thanks thor, the medic uber one is great I always waste the end of my uber, thanks

Zig Zags aren't too helpful against a good sniper. I can't remember who exactly it was but tuesday evening me and another sniper were keeping the other team completely locked down. Between the two of us only about 1 in 5 of the people who tried to get out of the front of their base actually lived long enough to get to our front door.

Yeah, I agree, a good sniper can counter the zig-zag, but I haven't run into too many good snipers yet.
