Microphone?

I have a Mic pluged in my mic in on my comp its a C-media wave device. My mic works on my dad computer but on mine it dosent do a sound I tried to allot of tings in control panel but dosent work. Do you guys know what to do?
 
make sure the mute button is off.... also what program dowsnt it work on? TF2.. dod... teamspeak.... or vent?
 
The mute is off and it dosent work in microsoft programs and all other programs.
 
It's distinctly possible that your sound card is misconfigured or the mic jack is simply fried. If you've got a few spare dollars, you might want to try Logitech's USB mic. I'm on my second one after the first one lasted 6 years and I'm told the sound quality is excellent.
 
ok thanks allot i tink its my microphone in that is off so i will check for the USB microphone!
 
Thanks but me i wont buy from there lol because im in Canada Quebec lol and i know a friend who gets me some mics with... (lol im dont remember word cuz im french lol) rebaits i tink lol.
 
now its working i just changed my sound card because it blew up on me so i use a new sound card its Dynex DX-SC51
 
It doesn't mount, it's got a weighted base and a stable neck. You set it on the desk, tilt the mic till it's pointed at you, and turn it on. Mine is perhaps 3 feet from my face when I game and nobody's ever complained about being unable to hear me. And they rarely hear the wife's TV in the background.

Although, I've been accused of having a baby in the house when they hear her laugh.
