Everyone, it has been a sad time for Firefighter with the tragedy that has befallen our brothers. We are not widely thought about but when we are needed or when we die fighting the good fight as our brothers in Arizona did. I wanted to give you a little taste of what it is to be a firefighter. here are some photos of scenes and my everyday life as a firefighter.

some days things are quiet, and not much happens besides children and families coming in to see the equipment and hear some stories. most of witch we don't tell because they are burdens we must bear alone. example: august 24th 2011 I was called to a fire with entrapment, most of the family made it out safe, but one little girl, and innocent girl got lost in her home from the blinding choking smoke. I went in, searching for her finding her at the top of the stairs curled up into a ball. she wasn't breathing and had burns all over her body, we all knew it was too late. I brought her out holding her close to me for this one angel had her lungs burnt from the extreme heat. I went home and cried for 2 hours. we often do not tell the sad stories because they affect us from that day till we die. we sign up so you don't have to deal with those situations.

now, some funny stories. The day before my wedding, I got sent out on a garage fire, long story short I fell through a floor into a underground well. 17 feet down. tore the ligaments in my shoulder. got married then next day in a sling with 2 hours of sleep. I'm happy to say in spite of everything she still said yes lol.

I've had ceilings fall down on me, oil barrels blow up on me knocked unctuous and had to be drug out of a fire. But I can tell you this, every firefighter that is passionate about what we do, wants to go out the hero. we want to be the ones that sacrifice out lives so that others may live. it takes a certain kind of person (some say crazy) to run in while everyone else is running out.

All firefighters have been in very bad situations.

more pics the first one is the house of the little 8 year old girl, the was in the upstairs right orner 10 feet inside the window.

Thanks mini and YAY BEEF!! I didn't know you were one of my Brothers! now I wont get so mad when you shoot me! lol

Thank you for what you do, guys. The local fire chief has been asking me a lot if I would join the local volunteer fire department. I think I had already made up my mind to do that after West, but these recent events have made it a certainty.

and, !up Griztastic... He is a paramedic with the fire department... He has been there and seen stuff too. I have huge respect for all of you... And our friend Frank, who is now Lieutenant, I believe... Griz correct me if I am mistaken... with the Chicago Fire Department. Many of those guys were also responders at 9/11.

I would give all of you a big hug if I saw you in person

Thanks to all you brave men that fight and risk your lives to keep us safe. It's people like you that make this country and world great.

My dad would appreciate your kind words. He's a retired firefighter of ~28 years, and now does EMS work.

It's sad to hear about the Arizona firefighters. My thoughts and prayers go to their families. Thanks for all you do, guys!

I'm in "firefighter school" Here in Sweden and I've had the chance to work a lot too. I'ts a great job, but it definitely has it's bad sides...

Condolences to their family's and friends, a dangerous job done by people who love their community. Here in Australia our heart's go out to all who knew them. R.I.P.
