My advice is to familiarize your self with the different items in the game. I know it may seem like a daunting task, but it will really make a difference. You don't have to know what EVERY item does, but at least just get a general idea of the popular items that you may see others using. Having an understanding of the items can help you build against your opponents as well as saving time at the shop and getting into the action quicker. And you probably know by now, but last-hitting is very important. You want to make sure you get that gold. You'll get better the more you play.
