Broke my pc

So I was cleaning/dusting out my pc last night. Didn't realize my CPU got stuck to the cooler because of thermal paste. Went down to place cooler and smashed some of the "teeth" on the bottom of the processor. I fixed them back into place with a little knitting needle. Connected everything back to my pc, went to start up my pc but NOTHING was working, I later opened it and plugged it right into the wall, only fans worked, no lights or anything else was behaving normaly.

I kept what is not upgradable, RAM, CD drive, Hard drive, ext. and threw away everything else(not like it would have been useful for BF4 anyways) Now........Have to get some money to get parts and Captbattlefield said he was going to help me choose the parts (thanks capt btw).Had to upgrade anyway for next year games. So, I'm not going to be online BF games for a while. I'm stuck to my sister's laptop for now.

i hope before you therw it out you made sure the cpu was hooked up right my wifes pc did the same thing i had to reset the cpu a couple time before it worked

Yeah did you have the cpu in the correct way? It only goes in one way for it to work.

Yeah did you have the cpu in the correct way? It only goes in one way for it to work.

This is true. MY custom build, i accidentally set it in wring and almost had a heart attack when it didn't work

I have a motherboard with CPU to spare...however, getting it from the czech republic across the ocean is not worth it

Oh no! You didn't tell me the fans still worked. If your cpu wasn't working nothing would boot up. I think you might have just thrown away a good processor

Hey guys just got back. My pc wasn't much of a loss I was going to upgrade everything anyways so I'm not to sad about it. For now I'm happy just playing minecraft on my sister's laptop
