A C4D is something created in a program called Cinema 4D. Cinema 4D is a high end 3D graphics program. I think it is used in 3D animation a lot (think Pixar) It creates renders similar to the following.
Cinema 4D can be used to make realistic looking 3D sculptures too, but usually when talking about Photoshop and signatures, C4Ds are abstract renders. Here is a sig I made using a C4D.
My critisism of the OPs work (specifically the use of renders) is that he did not use the renders to accent the work, or enhance the flow. The renders sort of stick out against the background. In the sig I posted (the red one) up there, note how the render (the red, abstract looking thing in the bottom right) sort of adds to the flow, and doesn't stick out. That is all I am saying.
