Hi everyone.

I am a very skilled FPS gamer that has very rare problem (because most noobs don?t have this, but I definitely am not alone, as clanmates have this problem too, some less and some more) and I need your help. Any suggestions, ideas or possible help would be really kindly appreciated by me. Now, let me describe you what the problem is about.

In like any FPS game (Battlefield 3, SWAT 4, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Ghost Recon Online, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and more), when I hit someone, I can only see the squirting blood, but the server doesn?t register me hitting anyone. I have tried a lots of tweaks that I ?ve found on the internet (especially in game SWAT4, where you can modify its .ini files in a lot), but nothing helps - the tweaks were not meant to eliminate hitbox problem, but to increase overall performance and internet connection. Of course I don?t have the problem all the time, but the gaming is really unplayable like this, as you die only because of this stupid bug, when you shot someone?s head 9 times (1 shot is needed in SWAT4 to kill with weapons I use) and then he turns on you and kills you on 1 burst not even aimed to your head.

Compare for yourself:

Killing with a problem: http://www.xfire.com/videos/200b07
Killing without a problem: [ame="http://www.xfire.com/video/604eb4"]301 Moved Permanently[/ame]

We have no packetloss, stable and very fast internet connection, mine was rated A on pingtest.net, I am very satisfied with it myself. I have no lags, no sttutters, only this problem.

My gaming rig: 8 GB RAM, Intel Core i5-3470 @ 3.20Ghz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti

Changing between gaming rigs (old and new PC) didn?t help. Changing the internet provider also didn?t help (my friend tried this, not I myself).
What apparently helps the problem is when I ?m recording video or streaming, something like creating slower connection.

I think that?s all I wanted to say. I would be very grateful for any help!

Best regards, Oehtab

Well let me put it to you this way since I've been playing competitive counter strike for a few years, you can always improve your hit registry... however, it will never be perfect. You are connecting to a server your internet connection as is the other person, therefore with the difference in latency you actually can get different registry depending on how high your latency is and how high the other persons is.

So basically, one of the only ways to improve it the way you would like would to be play on LAN, then with all of the other tweaks that you have added registry will be almost near perfect.

Thank you for your post. :)
You are right and therefore I can?t say much as a respond.

However I will be bothering you still, as this doesn?t explain why there were no problems with hitbox registering few years ago. I think it has something to do with internet overloading, because nearly everyone has internet devices in his house, mostly 2-3. Though, that doesn?t explain why it occurs only to few people.

EDIT: Do you know any tweaks to improve your hit registry?

Yes, it depends on the game though. For every game in the counter strike series, you can get a config with a bunch of commands in it that improves your registry etc
It can also be the game server itself, sometimes if you have let's say a 64 tick server in CSGO you get bad reg but 128 tick will get you much better reg. It also depends on the hardware of the server, if it's being stressed out because the owner is running too many instances on it etc etc.. sometimes you can't improve it /:

I play BF3 as well as CS and depending on the server my hit registry is either amazing or way off. I started researching on where the server was located and I noticed a huge increase in performance the closer the server was to my house / Internet provider. I know I could probably upgrade my rig to help out, but I think it comes down to;

You (Highly Skilled, Low Ping, Out of Bubble Gum)-> | Server (location: Unknown) | <- That laggy guy that takes 5 head shots to kill.

They all meet up and its somehow determined that because you run the game at the max fps, best rate, and others don't... anything that is even remotely shot your way will register against you. Oh and the laggy dude gets to sponge a few extra before dropping.
It's unfortunate, but I think we've all had a taste of it. (Getting killed when you know you were 100% around that corner)
GL finding an answer! And if you do. Let me in on it!!

There's really no fix to it, though having a 120hz monitor due to the faster refresh rate will show people around the corner that split second or two before the other person can even tell that they're around the corner.. if that makes sense.

Yes, it for sure depends on server a lot, nevertheless it often depends only on people you are playing against, as you ?ve said too. :)

I more than being killed after corner have this problem:

Of course there is possibility of having 1% HP and not be a bug, but if you headshot someone with sniper rifle that normally kills on 1 headshot, it?s a bug and everyone knows it. Same thing if you get close to someone and he normally dies on, let?s say, 10 bullets from MP-7, you shoot 40 into his head and body and he doesn?t die - that?s my problem there mainly. :)

Thank you for posting. :)
